Bones - Season 2 [2006] [DVD]

I'VE WATCHED 'BONES' SINCE I WAS IN MY MID TEENS AND I LOVED EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE BODY AND SKELITONS. BOOF AND BONES AS A TEAM ARE AMAZING AND I ADORE THEIR CEMESTRY AND HOW THEIR LOVE BUILDS UP SLOWLY, SO THE SERIES DOSEN'T FOCUS ON BOOF AND BONES'S LOVE SIDE OF THEIR FRIEND/WORK PARTNERSHIP CONSTANTLY.I WOULD SAY THAT IT'S NOT FOR THE AGE GROUPS FROM:0MONTHS-15 YEAR OLDS.16+ IS A MUST AS THERE ARE SOME VERY DARK SEENS THAT MIGHT GIVE EVEN THE TOUGHEST OF YOUNG TO MID EARLY TEENS NIGHT MARES.(JUST FRIENDLY ADVISE TO CARERS/PARENTS OUT THERE)

I said on my review of season 1 that "tv" Temperance Brennan is different from "book" Temperance in a number of ways - but fans of the books will find much to love in this incarnation of our girl as she and FBI partner Booth continue to solve cases in which bones are the only clue available.The start of the season sees a new boss, Cam, arrive at the Institute. Not only is she very hands on, she is a former love of Booth, and Tempe and Cam do not hit it off in the early episodes. The new character is well written and softens as the season progresses until it is hard to imagine the team without her input. Meantime Zac undergoes a make-over in order to secure a permanent place on the staff once he gains his doctorate, and Hodkins and Angela begin a tentative office romance.Booth and Brennan continue to spar verbally with each other and some of their exchanges will have you laughing out loud. When a fellow agent, Sully, begins a relationship with Tempe, Booth's feelings are confused - but as is observed, Tempe "is rubbish at being a girl" and her own complicated life does not bode well for a permanent relationship. Tempe continues to put her foot in it socially, particularly when a case involves Booth's Catholic religion.Among the classy episodes are 'The Girl with the Curl' about child beauty Queens, (with a wonderful scene of Tempe trying to talk to a group of 8 year olds at a dance class!), 'Aliens in a Spaceship' which has Tempe and Hodgkins buried alive by a serial killer, and 'The Headless Witch in the Woods' which has more than a nod to The Blair Witch Project.Guest stars this season include Stephen Fry as a laid back, insightful Psychiatrist whom Booth must see after he shoots an ice cream van, and Ryan O'Neal as Tempe's estranged and mysterious father whose elusive character comes into his own when Booth is targetted by the Mob. And, once again, Angela's instantly recognisable father - from ZZ Top - pops up!21 episodes, some with commentary, outtakes and 2 featurettes, this series is a must for fans of CSI style drama and taughtly written crime shows. Witty, warm and laced with edge of seat action, Bones Season 2 is a brilliant second season of a hit series.

My love affair wih Bones continues and the series goes from strength to strength.The characterization is really superb, obviously not just from the writers but also with input from the actors concerned who now have got under the skin of their characters. I know the introduction of Cam upset many fans but she has added a new dimension of sexual tension, especially with Booth, and also the possibility of having a pathologist on hand which widens the scope of the state of bodies they find.There are so many excellent episodes especially with the introduction of Howard Epps the serial killer. The appearance of Brennan's father also adds further twists.Romance grows between Hodgins and Angela leading to the altar via the storeroom.. Booth's sexuality is demonstrated especially in 'The truth in the Lye'but Brennan gets her turn under the sheets with agent Sullivan.There are good extras: personally I especially like commentary by actors, writers and directors. And there is always the gag reel!One point though. There is actually a missing episode. 'The player in the game' was never aired in season two. Perhaps the producers had cold feet or it coincided with something happening in the real world. However it does appear in the season three box set so if you have that as well insert it after 'The killer in the concrete' which is where it is placed in the run of production numbers. There is a choice of two versions - the one aired during season three and the original version.Excellent appearances by Ryan O'Neill as Max Brennan and Stephen Fry as Booth's therapist.

Good

I really like this series and am very disappointed that it is going off of Amazon Prime in four days. I have been trying to catch up on my favourite episodes before this and have purchased a couple. However, it would be really good if this decision could be looked at as it could influence my future choices on streaming sites. This has been a comfort during lockdown - it is a brilliant series and although it is not made anymore it is good to see how not only the characters develop over the years it was made but also the technology used for solving the crimes.

Like having bones on dvd, watch when i want. 👍

An excellent series, with very good believable characters and convincing cast. Stories are well written and do seem to be based on good research of the scientific processes involved so easy to suspend disbelief. The cast seem to have a good relationship and this comes through in the interactions of their characters and the way they work together. The subject is a little macabre and some of the scenes can be somewhat gross with shots of partially decomposed human remains, but it all seems well done and quite realistic and maintains a touch of humour throughout.

my boys brought me bones season 1 for fathers day. I enjoyed watching all the episodes together. I thought I would buy season 2 from amazon and well worth it too. I have now seen all episodes of season 2 some of which I am not sure have been shown on telly. season 2 is well worth the money with 21 episodes too watch  Bones - Season 2 [2006] [DVD ] and i have now watched through to season 5 (all worth watching) and am waiting for season 6 in october

bones was a excellent tv show. this is an awesome add to my collection.

Bon duo d'acteurs. Attention certaines scènes peuvent choquer les personnes non anthropologues. Puisque tiré d'une hisoire réelle, les assassins ne doivent plus être bien nombreux aux US :-(Colis très sérieux.

I love this series! I like the realistic elements but also the relationships between the characters. It's a great bunch of actors in this series!

A superb follow-up to the first season.
