3M ear plugs are a lifesaver for light sleepers like me. They block out my wife's snoring completely, allowing for peaceful nights. Comfortable fit, they stay in, cheap, and effective, they're a must-have for anyone needing uninterrupted sleep.

When I want to go to sleep, I want to go to sleep, regardless of the machinations of others, beeping horns, playing music, even talking, so I have been using earplugs of one sort or another for around 20 years.I started out using wax earplugs, which in my experience always end in disaster as they wind up with bits breaking off, necessitating a trip to the doctor to have the wax removed.Then I switched to a synthetic sort available from a large chemist chain in the UK, which were excellent for a while, but then they changed somehow - they made them softer, I think, or the density was reduced, I don't know - and they don't work properly anymore.So, now I am onto these, and they are the best product currently out there, as I have tried several since I stopped using the ones from the chemists.They are used in the usual way - roll from around the middle to the end between your index finger and thumb and then insert into the ear, leave a few seconds so that they soften up a bit more and then insert a little further in.In terms of how often each set of two can be reused, I think three times is about the limit, after which they become too distorted to fit or work truly effectively.Overall, I can honestly say that they are very comfortable and, critically, that they cut out almost all noise. One guy in the reviews here, I saw, said that he uses them in the Territorial Army during weapons training live firing and I absolutely believe it.You cannot hear anything much when they are in, although helpfully if you put your alarm clock or phone alarm right next to you on full volume you can hear that sufficiently to wake up, at least I can.Exceptionally highly recommended for those who want to sleep when they want; not when other people decided to shut up.

I've been using these for a few years now. They're cheap and cheerful and do the job. I need to wear them when I'm camping, or when the windows are open in the summer and seagulls or pigeons start making noise at the crack of dawn. They're quite comfortable and don't fully cancel out the noise, which means you can still wake up to an alarm.For me personally I find that they sometimes fall out in the night unless I push them in really far. This is because they stick out, and brush against my pillow when I turn my head. This might be an issue for you depending on the shape of your ears and ear-holes.Each pair lasts about 3-4 weeks for me, after which time they get a bit gunged up with ear wax - but the waxiness of ears varies across the population like eye colour, so if your ears aren't waxy, they might last a few weeks longer. You can wash them in warm soapy water to refresh them and get a couple more weeks of use, but the noise cancellation does deteriorate over time, even if your ears aren't waxy, so if you're a particularly light sleeper, then you're probably better off replacing them every 2-3 weeks.

easy squeezy - block your ears - nearly. I wear in bed to dull the traffic noise. Can still hear it but half as bad. Also good for very loud gigs.

I’ve been using this type of ear plug for a few years now and these work great for me. They never fall out like others I’ve tried and I find them pretty comfortable to wear.Great to take on holiday too for those hotels that aren’t as quiet as others!I usually wash a pair around 2-3 times before I ditch them and use a fresh pair.
