This is the one I find most useful!
These are my favorite modular storage boxes made by Sortimo. I use many different combinations of these for all of my on-site gear. I stack everything I need together and roll on a four wheel dolly. They look very tidy and professional and are great for doing work in occupied spaces and especially for high-rise residences. I use mine for work in museum environments as well. I have many clients comment on how clever the tool boxes are. This particular box is the one I find most useful with the top of the box being the size of an L-BOXX2 and the open area being able to accommodate many combinations of drawers. The drawers slide in easily and sort of lock in place for transportation but easily slide out with a slight lift on the drawer handle to got it over a small catch on the slide. It's nice to stack up enough on a dolly to double as a high rolling work stand to keep from bending your back as much. The small slot on the sides of the top where other boxes can interlock when stacked is perfect for hanging tools with belt clips such as drivers and drills. The handles snap into their positions for storage or carry surely and easily and are super strong. The red latches for the top storage might seem a little light weight but are in fact very strong as well. They latch well but are easy to open. The boxes can take a little practice to set in place on top of one another and can be slightly awkward when filled with heavy items but lock together relatively easy and are no problem to unlock from one another. several cases can be picked up from the top handle when they're attached together. The bosses are made from ABS plastic and are very strong. I have broken one before by mis-handling it and I was able to easily cold weld it with acetone. It is now as strong as new. I hope this review is helpful.

Great for art supplies!
Not only is this good for tools...this system is perfect for artist and crafters as well! I used to use a regular tool box with three shallow drawers for my artist paints and brushes. The top on the old box was getting maxed out on capacity. I sometimes have to travel to an on site location and having a good portable system with all my paints and brushes is critical. The art supply world is seriously lacking in ways to store, organize, and mobilize that is not supper flimsy. I searched for a long time before I found this Bosch system. It’s very sturdy... I can keep everything in one place and it’s even good for moving around the house because depending on the size of what I’m working on I sometimes have to work in the garage or the kitchen or even outside. I was a little confused about what drawers I could use together in the 3D so I had to make a couple of returns. If you want just easy to access drawers you can only use 2 of the 72mm together. I thought a deep drawer and a slim drawer would work together... they won’t. I’m definitely adding two L racks with two more 72mm drawers and the dolly wheels. It does get heavy fully loaded. (FYI there is lots of real estate for stickers on the 3D BOXX too! 😉)

This is great. If you have to get one box get ...
This is great. If you have to get one box get this one and a LST-72 so it will interchange with the LRack if you add another Sortimo box. My tool life was a complete disorganized mess. In Milk crates , tool box, soft bag, cardboard boxes, etc. so the Lboxx 3d has allowed me to reorganize and consolidate. No more milk crate for the Milwaukee sawzall and cardboard box for the other tools. I still use my sears craftsman 16" toolbox got my wrenches, sets of sockets, pliers, screwdrivers and ratchets. The weight of the small 16" toolbox is about 25 lbs. So if you load up the lboxx-3d with the above and power tools then things get heavy. And defeats the purpose, I like keeping things light for comfort and accessiblty. I can now comfortably work out if my Prius hatchback for 90% of small jobs that don't require hauling sheet goods or large quantity of materials. The amount of gas I save on driving my Prius over the Ford F-150 paid for the lboxx3d in less than a month and saved my sanity. On a side note I have a nylon handled rigid handyman's tool bag (home de-pooh) with a swing up handle I still use. I put in my demo tools in that. Wonder bars, hammer, tape measure, punch, three Lenox utility knives pack of 50 blades, sawzall blades and other miscellaneous, hand tools that would be too hard to rifle through in a pull out tray like the LST72 or 92. I like being able to see the items in plane view where they live in separate pouches.

Great For Electronics Equipment
I love this whole line and it's the easiest way to get ahold of the awesome Sortimo brand in the US. I wish Bosch would sell it in red! I bought this with two drawers: the LST92-OD LST 92 Deep Drawer and the Bosch i-Boxx53-12. I use this for storing my electronic repair equipment: the deep drawer holds all my spools of wire while the organizing tray holds connectors and circuit parts. My soldering iron, stand and other equipment is stored in the top. Whenever I have an electronic project to deal with I just grab this one thing. Perfect.

Becoming my "go to" l-boxx the more I use it
This is probably the most versatile l-boxx in the line. The top has similar dimensions to an l-boxx2 and the bottom opening can hold various drawer combinations(i-boxx 53(-12)/72(-10), LST72, and the LST92). I ordered the LST72 drawer and the i-boxx 72 to go inside the bottom and it works great. The bottom can also hold the LST92 deep drawer and the iboxx53 together as well, though I doubt you can fit the LST92 and the LST72/iboxx 72 in at the same time. The LST92 seems to be an exclusive to the 3d l-boxx so I don't think it will fit in the newly released l-rack system. The drawer slides have a very deep detent to them so I can't see them opening up accidently unless the enitire unit itself was upended or knocked over on its front. Seen some complaints about them not being lockable from theft, but really, they're plastic boxes so if someone was determined to steal they could just take them anyway. If theft is a major issure for you, then you are looking at the wrong product. This product is about productivity and function over anything else. Overall, a great starting point if you're apprehensive about taking the dive into the L-boxx line.

Durable so far, good modular system.
Great organizer and space saver for the workshop. I own several versions of these, I buy them when I find them on sale, refurb or Bosch offers a rebate or discount. I use this particular one for my cordless drill and driver, batteries and charger for both and Kreg jig in the top, then one of the drawers (the one with a clear snap lid and colored organizer boxes) holds Kreg and other wood screws and small Kreg parts, the other drawer (open on top, no dividers) holds drill and driver bits. All of that stuff that was spread out all over the shop before is in one area now. The lids and red snap closures really feel thin and flimsy but after several months of heavy use I have not broken one. The plastic used must be some super reinforced super-plastic. Not at all cheap to get into this system but if you own a lot of tools and use them a lot it's a small investment in organizing and protecting those tools. I took off a star because the snap together function of these boxes is not great. Sometimes you can squeeze the red handles together and get one box to detach from the other, other times it is a chore requiring several tries. This is a good system but needs a little refinement. My biggest regret is that we can not get the white OEM Sortimo boxes here in the states. I like the look of those better than the teal ones that have the Bosch logo spammed all over them.

The most versatile offering in the LBOXX line.
This is a great tool box. Deceptively named, this is actually an L-Boxx-2 with provision for 2 drawers under it. It can hold up 144 mm of drawer height. Given that the Bosch LST92-OD LST 92 Deep Drawer only fits in the bottom slot in this Boxx, it's a natural addition. Bear in mind, though, that with the in place, the top slot can only hold a 53mm drawer or case. Without the LST92-OD, the L-Boxx-3D will hold 2 of any combination of 55mm or 72mm deep drawers.

Best L-BOXX model.
I've got the LBOXX-1, 2, 3 and 3D, and the 3D is my favorite because of the easy access to contents via the front. Using either the iBOXX53, iBOXX72, or LST92 (bin) (I have the 53 and 72 in mine) allows me to carry small parts/electronics in a closed "briefcase" type carrier. Super convenient, sturdy and useful.
