Not as good as the gold capsules I used to buy from Elizabeth Arden, and slightly less serum per capsule. (With the other brand, I’d have a ton of extra that I would need to use up on my neck and chest rather than waste it. ) BUT. Pretty decent product and a way better price. They smooth into my face and dry quickly, as expected for this kind of product. And there’s a visual difference half a day later. I am really happy I got to try these and will definitely add them to my routine! And I strongly expect that I’ll buy more after I use them up.

I am a long-time user of retinol, and I've used many different brands and formats over the years. The biggest variables are the concentration of retinol, and how easy it is to use. This product does well on both counts. It doesn't specify the concentration, but retinol is listed first on the ingredients list and I got a slight tingle when I first started using it. Just a tingle--no discomfort--and I experienced no irritation whatsoever while using it...but then I never do. (My skin seems as sensitive as an old boot.) First time users should take care when trying this, but then that is true of all retinoids, and retinol is well worth experimenting with. The product is also easy to use, in that it absorbs quickly and fully into the skin, and is a pleasant gel-like texture, not a runny liquid. The ampoules are very convenient for travel--you can just throw a few into your toiletries bag--and keep the ingredients fresh. I will say that these particular ampoules are real buggers to open: the little tops don't twist off as easily as most do. And they are smaller than most, with just barely enough serum for a single use. Which is fine, but do count on one ampoule per use. After using this product for about a month, I feel comfortable saying that it is among the better retinol serums out there, and at a pretty good price.

The retinol complex is a pre measured amount in a capsule, which made it convenient to apply. The serum applied smoothly with “just enough” in each capsule for the face but not enough for the neck area. After using for a few weeks, fine lines were not noticeably reduced, but my skin seemed more hydrated which I credit to the ceramides in the retinol blend. There was a slight “earthy” fragrance to the serum but was not unpleasant and seemed to disappeared after about 5 minutes, but left a slight filmy/oily residue in the skin. I have sensitive skin, yet this serum did not irritate it.

Making the capsules a little bigger with even a tiny more serum inside would be worthwhile. Current amount I'm unable to spread the product evenly, and definitely not enough to apply in neck area. The capsules aren't a challenge to get open, but it's not easy initially either. Some force to pull the tab off is required, not really an issue though. The serum has a faint scent, can't exactly describe what it is. The scent isn't chemically, strong, unpleasant, just a subtle maybe "earthy" smell - could be the oils, which fades away after a few seconds and is only able to be smelled if your pour the capsule in your hand. Not sure if the capsules are biodegradable (probably not since it's not mentioned) or able to be recycled.Pros:There's 50 capsules included that come in a small, clear container. The container's conveniently sized and easily fits in my medicine cabinet, or can be taken traveling as is without taking up much space. I use the product twice a day after washing my face and using toner. The consistency is smooth and pleasant feeling, and probably completely absorbs in about ~3-4 minutes. The serum doesn't leave any sticky, uncomfortable, or oily residue. I've only been using the product for ~2ish weeks and so far I haven't noticed any changes in my skin's appearance or texture yet, but results could vary widely for someone with a different skin type. It's overall gentle and hasn't bothered my skin, I'll likely keep using the product until it runs out and will see then if there's any changes to my skin.
