It's the perfect quiet time toy, without the screen time! You can create, save, animate and play games. (The games setting does have little beeping noises, but they're not super loud). It's great for a road trip as it easily fits in a diaper bag and keeps the kids entertained. Has a battery mode or a plug in - note it is not rechargeable and the plug in mode only works plugged into a power source. Takes 3 AA batteries. If they happen to die on the car trip though, we can plug it into the USB port, or into a portable charge pack as o they can keep playing.

PROs: If you’re roadtripping with a toddler this summer, add this one to your cart! This has been a fantastic toy for ages 1-5 for us, and will probably continue to be age-appropriate into elementary and beyond! We own several. Durable and easy to keep clean! After a year they still function perfectly. And we haven’t even had to change the batteries despite hours of usage. Fun toy and a LEARNING tool: In addition to making pictures, I prompt my pre-schooler to make letters or numbers. The creativity has been tremendous for both the small and the large version. We’ll continue to enjoy coming up with new ideas. If this toy came in a giant XL version, I’d buy immediately. CON: After over a year of owning several, only con I’ve found is the small version doesn’t have a “reset” function to get all the colors to reset to blank. Switching modes or turning off then on, it’ll keep each color as was previously left. The larger version has a function that allows you to reset all the colors, which is convenient when you want to start with a blank slate to create something new.

She's really into pushing buttons right now, so this is perfect! I like that it's quiet so I can take it to church but still keeps her interest. It will also be perfect for the car. The toy actually has a game mode and a create mode, making it even more versatile. My older girls (8 and 11) liked playing with it too, so I think kids of differing ages would like this. One thing that should be noted is that it is smaller than I expected. This is actually a bonus for babies or toddlers, but could be disappointing for older kids. Pros & Cons: + Easy to push buttons + Interactive + Quiet +/- Smaller than expected (good for small hands, less interesting for bigger kids) Overall, I'd definitely recommend this toy for babies who like buttons and lights. The bigger size would also be fun for kids who like to create or play memory-type games.

This has become part of my 4 year old's bedtime routine. He plays with it every night before bed and it has turned into one of his favorite quiet activities. He makes numbers, letters, houses, and all kinds of little creations. I love seeing what he comes up with each time. It's the perfect wind down toy because it's quiet, engaging, and encourages creativity without being overstimulating. It's also easy for him to use on his own, which is a big plus. This has definitely been one of our favorite toys and has gotten a lot of use.

This is such a great toy; the three modes make it more than one activity to hold attention longer, the light is very pretty and fun to look at, and the animations are neat. It's a nice size to fit in a purse or bookbag...great for airplane travel, which is what I originally got them for. The battery last a long time, too...I don't remember having to charge them after the very first charge, and you can save up to five creations. My children, ages 6 and 9 still play with these, and I got them about a year ago. When they have sports but not at the same time, it's a great way to entertain them while they wait. It's also way better than an iPad...not passive at all, you have to create, play, act and this toy does not affect their behavior negatively, like when they are on screens. And no little pegs to get lost like the old school Lite Brite. Really happy with these...they are a little pricey, but I think it's worth it.

Purchased for the car/at church. I have a 4 and 6 yr old and they both love it! The "create your own" mode is fun and they silently design. The "animate" mode is a favorite for the 4yr old as he can just touch a button and it explodes color. Why I couldn't give it the full 5 stars?? It beeps! The animate mode and game mode have noise. There is no turning it down or off. That part gets annoying.

Great toy with nice tactile buttons that toddlers and older will enjoy. Adults will also have fun fiddling with the buttons and making pictures too. The colors are vibrant and bright, although in direct sunlight or very bright rooms it will look muted. We didn’t have a problem with it though. Lots of fun. Thickness is easy on the hands to be able to hold and push at the same time.

Great quality and perfect size for kids. The lights in different designs make it so cute. There’s no missing parts. Thin enough to hold kn your hands.
