Was a little worried might be awkward to use but found to be reasonable to use and clean clamp

This large and heavy tool has relatively long handles and a link design similar to bolt cutters to magnify the leverage and parallelism of the jaws. The listing is not very clear, so I was pleased to see that they can deal with multiple sizes of fitting using the rotating aperture heads. These hardened steel jaws have a series of split hexagonal cut-outs ranging from 6 square millimetres, 10AWG to 50 square millimetres, AWG 0. It's very easy to turn them to any position by depressing the spring-loaded pins. There is some free movement in each position to allow the pairs of jaws to self-align.I tried the crimper with some size 6 electrical eyelet terminals and 10 AWG insulated wire as specified on the tool and the terminal pack. In every case the plain hexagonal jaws squeezed the ferrule into a hexagonal form with two small misshapen 'ears' or fins on opposite sides. They didn't grip the wire sufficiently to prevent it being pulled out easily.I also found the tool unwieldy, at least on these relatively small fittings, and I was unable to find a way to control the process reliably. Two hand are needed for the crimper, and the wire is loose until crimped, unless it is soldered first.It is possible that the tool is more effective in both respects with the larger sizes. I haven't any materials to test this. A lot must depend on the fitting being crimped as to whether the result is satisfactory. The tool is simply a device to squeeze a tube into a hexagon. The apertures have smooth sides and no further detailing.

There are assorted settings on the crimper, which are all well marked as to size in each part as you just line the matching numbers up and that’s it - crimp away! There is a nice ‘guide’ stamped on the crimper with what size jaws to use on assorted size cables/terminals - see photos. Overall impression is they are a well made, robust pair of tools that do the job.

I did find it a bit difficult to start the crimping process due to the size of the tool but the crimping works wonderfully!
