Great Rub for Brisket
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose this rub as a replacement for the now defunct Oak Ridge BBQ rub called "Black Ops" that was exceptional on brisket, based on some online reviews I saw. It turns out it is a near-perfect replacement. Exceptional flavor, good but not too much salt, and builds up a great bark on Brisket, short rib racks, and the like. Great stuff.

Nice seasoning for Brisket (lots of pepper)
This was my first time smoking a brisket, and this seasoning did not disappoint. I rubbed a small amount of mustard on the brisket and then coated it with this seasoning. I did make the mistake of cutting off and sampling the end piece without scraping any of the bark off.... way too much pepper in that one bite! The normal slices had just the right amount and when dipped in a little BBQ sauce... YUM! Comments made at dinner included; "This tastes like something from a restaurant!", "Why have you never made this before?", "Can we have a cookout next weekend and fix this again?"... So, it was a hit. Aside from the brisket, I'm not sure if I would use this on anything other than steaks (although I usually only put salt on mine). I'm going to check out some of their other flavors next.
