I've finally found a decaf coffee with a rich, robust coffee taste. Tastes close to a regular French roast blend. This is a course grind, but the flavor is strong. I use a single-serve drip machine, and I like that there is no "sludge" in the bottom of my mug, which I get with a finer grind. Win-Win for this coffee.

I was looking for some other coffee for my mid-afternoon snack. What a great find. Very tasty.

Second time I ordered this coffee. Generally satisfied with quality. However, each order contained 1 bag of the 6 that was not a solid brick. Instead, the bag was packed loosely indicating loss of freshness. Coincidence, or perhaps purposely placed so that I would not return product. Seems like an ideal way for company to rid itself of the few faulty bags. I will purchase again, but if there is a faulty bag, I will expect company to provide reimbursement and will seek other vendors.

I have never before tried any chicory coffees so this was my first. I was hunting for some decaf as my preferred brand is MIA, and this caught my eye. As always Amazon reviews can be very bipolar befuddling, but numerous reviews inspired me to take a shot, (no pun intended). My expectations were modest at best, thinking it may be bland or the flavor may be not to my taste. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this brews up *very* rich-- so much so I have had to taper my usual scoop count down. The first pot I brewed (I do pour-over) was so strong I had to heat and add more hot water after the fact. The grind is medium-fine, by my estimation. The color of the brew with milk was rich with amber tones as I would hope and produced some crema during the pour. The flavor is a little different, hard to describe- not "nutty" exactly, but in a similar sense, a "warm", pleasant kind of flavor as associated with a "nutty" palate; I assume due to the chicory. I like it enough that I will almost certainly buy this again. I also have blended with another grind to mutually enhance each with very nice results. I had read some reviews of this coffee as sold in another form (can, I think) and read several people say it was different from the previous they'd gotten and other negative observations, so I was pleased that this was not a disappointment. I prefer a moderately strong cup of coffee, medium-dark, not bitter, and this fills that bill well. And due to brewing up so intensely (again, pour-over method), I would assume it will go a little further than others that require more grind to get the right intensity.

If you want a good strong dark roast coffee without the caffeine this is for you. I found that without the caffeine I was missing the boost and feeling rundown all day. Not wanting to waste this coffee and still getting my caffeine I decided to use the rest of this CMD by mixing 1/2 and 1/2 with regular coffee. I probably will not buy anymore of this coffee, but only because I apparently need the caffeine.

I've always loved chicory coffee. I've recently changed to caffeine free. The only bad thing about it is that now I can drink a lot more of it! Wonderful taste, no jitters!
