Worked like a charm.
When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago had some rope lights installed under the cabinet. Looks GREAT, but guessing our contractor used subpar clips and within a year half of them started to crack and break causing the rope to hang and be unsightly. We bought these clips and they work like a charm. Feel more secure than the ones our contractor used!!

YOU WILL LOVE THESE
SO easy to use, screws included and they are nice and sharp - so no pre-drilling pilot holes before installation on the house. I found it easiest to get each screw started in each clip. Then I tossed a 'em into my hoodie pockets, which made putting them up on the house fast and easy, no fumbling with trying to get the screw into the clip while my arms and drill were over my head while up on the ladder :)I was SO happy I bought these when I bought my rope lights...the rope lights came with clips and screws but oh my...I actually don't know if I would have ever been able to make those dinky things work!

Great Clips but Crappy Packaging
Clips work great but I ordered two packages expecting 24 clips because the packaging states 12 count. Both packages contained 11 clips BUT had 12 screws. I would have given it a lower score based on this but gave it a three because they are actually really good clips.

Great Idea, Poor Execution
I had purchased some rope light to hang around my BBQ area, and these clips were shown with the rope light, so I went ahead and bought them. Putting them up was not too hard if you were installing one at a time. I attempted to use 4 of them (as stated in the instructions) to make a 90˚ corner, put the clips broke. If you push too hard the clips crack or break. You can not reposition your light without the clips breaking.Instead I went to Home Depot and purchase rope light track, secured it with some screws, now my lights are straight, no dips or sags. Works better than these clips.Avoid these clips if possible.

Great idea in concept, poor in performance
The concept is great for hanging rope lights - the problem is that they do not stand up to the cold of winter, and like most plastic, they break easily when cold. I ended up not even hanging the lights because they would not hold the rope lights. My main question is why don't the make these out of metal?

Significant upgrade from the factory supplied parts.
Much better than the jokes that came with my rope light. The mounting base is quite wide. I used a pair of tin snips to trim one side of each clip so that I could get as far into a corner as possible.

Rope light clips
These are great! Most light clips are wimpy and/or difficult to install. These are sturdy and they install with a single screw. Once they are screwed into whatever (I put them over my kitchen cabinets) they stay put. The rope lights just snap into place and pull out as you like. The clips are clear so you hardly see them. In fact, depending where you are using them. You may choose to leave them in place till the next time you want them. I bought some at Menard's at Christmas and since I thought they were so great, I was inspired to do more decorating with rope lights. But Christmas was gone and so were the clips at the store. I was thrilled to find them at Amazon.

Heavy duty clips
I chose this rating because the clips performed as promised. I purchased four boxes to string 30 feet of rope light around the top and sides of my garage entrance. I did the install in cold weather expecting some of the clips to break, but I had no problems. (I tightened the screws to snug only. Clips on corners were left slightly loose to allow rope to navigate the curve) The best feature is the ability to link the clips together (see box pic) to go around corners. Because the rope lights were coiled in shipping and it was cold, flexibility was limited, but I ganged two clips every foot or so to control the rope on the sides of the garage entrance. The rope light has remained secure since the installation. These clips worked nicely for me. Tip: Probably best to have a helper to insert the rope in the clips to minimize possible clip breakage or toxic frustration.
