American Popular Music: From Minstrelsy to MP3

This book has so much great information on American music and its history. This book is so informative I'm considering buying it after my rental is over.

Although this book was very informative and had everything you needed to know about American pop music, it was very overly wordy and sometimes redundant it was very hard for my college freshman doing remote learning to embrace. I did love the music examples and the sound bites to listen to!

I ordered this a couple weeks ago for my current semester class MUSIC 367. And I admit it took a little long to get it in the mail, but I admit this is a really good book on pop music.I will be ordering more textbooks from this seller.

If you have interest in the history of modern (American) music, this book is fantastic. The combination of music history, social history, and music analysis actually makes it difficult to put down. If you can make time to listen to noted selections along the way, it's like going on a music vacation.

Needed this book for a college course. This book is rather interesting to read. It talks about music from different time periods and famous artists at that.

Liked the book & textbook! Helped me pass my class.

I was puzzled as to why this relatively-expensive book was only $10 for the Kindle version, but I tried it anyhow. It is not a Kindle book, I suspect it is a pirated version. I found a work-around for the misaligned pages that are shown in another user review, but then I noticed that most of the pages are missing and the ones that it does have are often cut out. There is no table of content, you cannot interact with the text in any way, it just simply is not what it says it is and is basically useless for any true use of it.

Purchased for a college course and enjoyed reading it so much, will keep it in my library - great music history!

Was brand new, and came on time.
