Time 4 Nutrition Whey Protein Professional Time Release Grass Fed Native Whey Protein Concentrate, Partially Hydrolysed Isolate & Micellar Casein (Strawberries & Cream, 1.8kg Bag)

I have been using the original Time 4 Whey Protein for the past few years and always found it to be a great product. It not only provided a good source of high quality protein, but also tasted good, unlike a lot of its rivals. So, I was gutted when it was no longer available. I tried a few other brands, which were okay, but didn’t live up what I’d come to expect from Time 4. Just when I had come to accept that I would have to settle for an inferior product, Time 4 announced the arrival of their new, improved Time 4 Whey Protein Professional. Although I was excited at the prospect of getting my hands on some Time 4 Whey after several months, I was a bit sceptical. Could new and improved just be marketing speak for a poorer quality product topped up with cheap fillers, like skimmed milk powder? I thought I’d try the Strawberries and Cream flavour. As soon as the bag arrived, the first thing I checked was the ingredients list and to my relief there were no cheap fillers and it still contained different types of whey and the slower release casein protein. One of the reasons I bought the original whey was because the mix of different types of protein provides a sustained release of amino acids, which is handy for me because I can’t always eat every 4 hours. I also noticed that the whey and casein were from grass fed cows. Again, I thought that this was a bit of marketing bluff, but no, there is good science to show that grass fed products are superior. So far, so good. All the ingredients look good and are included at effective levels but what does it taste like and how does it mix? Is it going to feel like wall paper paste and taste like it too? I mixed it in a shaker, as I usually do and it soon became smooth, creamy with no lumps like the original whey. Now for the taste. I know the nutritional content is the most important thing to consider when buying a supplement, but if it doesn’t taste good, it really puts you off. I am a bit of creature of habit and always tended to buy the Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream flavour, but I certainly wasn’t disappointed with Strawberries and Cream; it tasted great. You could really taste the strawberries and there was no synthetic after taste. It was just like a milkshake, but most importantly it has a fantastic nutrient profile. So, I have to give this product 5 stars and congratulate Time 4 for once again exceeding my expectations. My only problem is next time do I buy another bag of Strawberries and Cream or do I take a chance on different flavour?

Nice smooth protein mixes well in a blender or hand shaker this is my preferred protein so would recommend

The flavours and shaken consistency is on point. I wouldn't get sick of this flavour.

Excellent customer service, very quick to answer my question regarding replacing the discontinued raspberry ripple ice cream flavour. Strawberries and cream a good replacement. Mixes well with water, I use 250ml to 30 grms of powder which is 100ml more than stated but suits me better.

The Time 4 product is great, but the reseal strip on the packaging is not fit for purpose; it does not work. I bought two packs of this whey protein since its relaunch, and the protein is great. I will continue to use this Time 4 protein even though I am not happy with the poor quality reseal strip on the packaging. Please Time 4, fix this.

Can’t fault Time4Nutrition all of there products are top quality and have given me amazing results

For a while I’ve been using Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey, they have some tasty flavours but it’s not the best quality. I was searching Amazon for a better quality alternative and found this. I love Jaffa Cakes and mentioned it to my girlfriend, and without me knowing she ordered me a bag. When it arrived I was not only very pleased but surprised just how big the bag was, it’s pretty huge. Opening the bag was quite difficult, using a large pair of scissors cut across the line above the seal as indicated on the bag, however, still won’t open, so I cut another strip off, it was still sealed, so I cut another strip off millimetres above the seal and it finally opened. The first thing I had to do was sniff the powder, and to my delight, it smelled just like Jaffa Cakes which was exciting and couldn’t wait to taste it. I mixed a full scoop of the powder in a shaker with 150ml of cold milk, I always use milk, not only does it make the shake taste creamier, but it also adds extra protein. After shaking it for awhile, it was time to taste. It wasn’t good, no lumps but the texture was thick and very powdery. I added another 100ml of milk, it was an improvement, but it isn’t smooth like the Gold Standard Shakes, it still has a powdery texture which I’m not a fan of. As for the flavour, it does somewhat resemble Jaffa Cakes, but it also has an artificial aftertaste, which subtracts from the enjoyment. Also, the bag doesn’t seal properly. The seal strip has detached itself from the bag, so even when it’s fully sealed it leaves a gaping hole of a couple of inches, the only way to seal it is fold it over and use a clip to hold it in place. After reading other glowing reviews I had high hopes for this protein powder, so I am left disappointed as the taste and consistency is mediocre at best. I’ve now been having 2 shakes a day for the past 8 days and I’m already getting sick of it, I’m not sure I can stomach it for another 3 weeks! It’s a shame it isn’t available on 1kg bags, which would give people a more cost effective way of trying the various flavours, instead we have to commit to a months supply, which isn’t great if you don’t like it much.

I miss the chocolate flavour from this company. Thought I would give this a go and it tastes really nice. I dunno most of my protein shakes with milk so can only comment on regards to this.
