This is a very interesting ,helpful piece to read to understand the attitude, mindset, actions and tone of Falicia's Blakely ppimp. You will read for yourself and experience and see how the 16 year-old at the time was easily deceitfully manipulated, emotionally, physically and mentally controlled and lured into the dangerous arms of her pimp by the vivous, abusive, mind-control and mind-altering accompanied with the many mind games he played in taking her on an emotional rollercoaster using his control to at that time before she free herself of his intimidation, manhood, and domination to rule over her. It gives you more of an up close and personal look into the mental capacity and brain of her pimp and an inside look in his agenda. You can see easily how this young girl was drawn in captivity and all types of bondage from his lies, smooth words, much experience, head games,and distorted love and unfullfill and reassuring empty sweet nothings, promises. You will learn more about the state of mind of this pimp. very powerful

I became curious after watching the scripted movie on TV One. I can see how a young girl was seduced by this lost soul. The blind leading the naive. After everything he put this girl through he had the nerve to still tell her he loved her and wanted to be her husband. For a while he still had her mind, I hope she's truly woke up. To think she wasted her life on this piece of ....! I'd be curious as to what is in his psych evaluation? Narcissistic? Anti-Social Disorder? Psychopath?Too bad she didn't know her value and self worth before meeting this clown. She would have been able to see this train wreck coming and run the other way. Wonder how many other women he's done this to?

This book was short and sweet. It delivers a great message all young girl needs to know because there are plenty men in this world that is the same as Mike. My whole thing is why would he not tell her he is HIV positive. Maybe I'm being bias and don't understand, but whatever the case may be I'm happy that Felicia didn't end up dead based on all the things he forced her to do. I'm sorry for the families lives she took and I respect that she's truly sorry as well. She deserves forgiveness and it's a good thing she got life and not the death penalty because she had a very bad upbringing.

I want to start off by saying that the .99 cent price tag for this read was a good fit, as it was a quick read but insightful and enlightening. This story concerns me because I have a daughter who can be naive and gullible at times and I now see how she could fall prey to such evil. Although I have not yet read the book, I have seen the movie in addition to reading the letters. I am going to make it my mission to get not only my daughter but my niece and goddaughter to read the book and letters. I pray that by reading the books, it will open their eyes just as it did for me. I appreciated the message from Falicia at the end. Her words and message was inspiring, heartfelt and well received. Lastly, it would have been really nice to have been able to read some of the letters written by Falicia, it would have helped to put everything into perspective. However, based upon what he was saying in his letters, you kind of get an idea of what was written in her letters to him. Overall, this was a necessary read and an intricate piece if you are planning on reading the book and or seeing the movie.

Very disturbing that even in prison his was still trying to control and manipulate her. Such a tragic story and so many lives lost.

The nerve of that aids packing mfka, ruined that babe life. I actually feel she deserves a second chance. She was old enough but at the same time to young enough to understand you don't be a follower in life you be a leader but she was under heavy manipulation and mind control of adult guy. He needs to be more responsible for his part in their crimes.

This book is excellent. Falicia's story is in all of us. I truly feel for her; however, I think about how close I can to being in her shoes when falling in love with the wrong man. Although I never prostituted or engaged in criminal activity, love left me homeless and destitute during my college years. I will never forget the lessons that low life provided. Thankfully I was able to weather the storm.

I wish we could have read her letters to him, just so we know some of what he's talking reply about.I've followed her story and found its a sad tale of another black woman. Glad she's up beat about her life, and taking responsibility::) for hera actions.
