Deadpool & Cable Omnibus (new Printing)

A fun read, delivered in good shape
It's tricky reading a book this big, but I wouldn't want it any smaller. Includes all 50 issues of the run and some notable Deadpool appearances that followed. Some of the content shows its age, but a lot has aged surprisingly well. Not all of it.This run and the bonus issues really bridge the gap between the earliest Deadpool and the later interpretations of the character, some of which honestly retreads some of character development that was done well here on the first attempt. Cable is the main character until he isn't, and then he disappears. The supplemental notes and interviews touch on that and explain a bit of the editorial meddling the creative team had to contend with to make this book even happen. There's not a ton of supplemental material included that isn't related comic stories that were included, but what made it in offers some good insights and wraps the whole thing in a neat little bow.I was a big Deadpool fan but had only read the earliest stuff before it and runs that were much more recent, and I'm glad I got this. It's not the buddy cop adventure it's marketed or remembered as, and it's hilarious that you can tell how badly the team wanted to make that happen before they were deprived access to one of their stars.Speaking of, there's a reason the title was flipped compared to the original "Cable & Deadpool", this ends up being Deadpool's spotlight, but not before plenty of plot focused on Cable that just happen to include Deadpool being dragged along. Cable, I only knew his backstory and general power set, but I grew to like the character quite a bit even when he was the main focus. Didn't expect I'd get a new favorite out of this, but I did! Okay, he's not my most favorite or favorite favorite, but he's up there. If you've got a passing interest in either character, I highly recommend you pick this up. Preferably with both hands, it's heavy

Good price mids packaging.
The product came with those air bags that I can’t really appreciate because you know it’s going to get banged up in transit. Plastic was also torn on arrival on both top and bottom. Overall doesn’t look bad though.
