PURPLE SUPERHUNK MEETS SASSY SEX ADDICT?! In
He's a really dangerous (Alien~biped/humanoid) guy......THE best Mercenary in Known Space, now retired and working as an "Aquisitions Specialist", collecting rare items by special order or on spec. He came to Earth to get some Aquatic specimens, which he obtains by hovering just over the ocean surface, opening the hold doors, and using a tractor beam to grab all of the LIFE forms within its range. The new species thus obtained are dropped into a prepared aquarium, and away he goes... It's all automatically done by the ship's programming. SLIGHT GLITCH OCCURS this run... the load of specimens includes ONE that can't breathe water. By luck or by chance, the PURPLE alien has made his collection right where MEGAN is drowning, having been knocked off a boat by her boyfriend of six months. Said boyfriend is long gone, having planned to kill MEGAN for her money..OK, so MEGAN manages to survive long enough to get caught up with the fish haul, and, using the last of her strength, she is just able to get hold of a rail so she doesn't get sealed in the ship's aquarium tank. She falls on a platform and passes out. Next thing she sees is....and I just LOVE this mouth on her!!!...I won't spoil it for you with the exact quote, but the PURPLE PIRATE picks her up, after deciding NOT to just kill her because she is sure to get really annoying and only has two breasts...He knows that Earth females are weak and whining and more trouble than they are worth, but maybe he can make a small profit by selling her as a sex slave.....and he wants to know who this HAN SOLO is that she called him before she passed out again......I type way to slow to do a long review on my kindle....Let's just say, SHE is feisty, mouthy, and doesn't back down from anyone. She hides her vulnerability well and fights for her LIFE as well as right to do with it what she wants..... HE is a PURPLE ALIEN SEX GOD (to her, as she becomes his SEX GODDESS), who has been the most Dangerous guy in Known Space for years and had only one use for females..and it never included talking with them or caring about what happened to them once his business was done.I could wish the book was longer and went a bit deeper....built is a hugely FUN read, some laugh out loud places. Pretty steamy without making SEX the only point of the story. What would be really cool would be following these two farther down the road, develop them more, have some genetic enhancements done on MEGAN, then some kind of accident or injury where the ship's programming autofocus heals and fixes her so well that..oooooops, a new species......SO WE CAN ALSO FIND A NEW SERIES OF BOOKS ON THEM...... BUT SERIOUSLY,WOULDN'T THAT BE COOL? I really enjoyed Tren and MEGAN, I do recommend this book.....this is the first review I have written,so that should say a lot. I am now going to read about whatever trouble Tren's brother is in! Despite the HEADER, this review is by a WOMAN--the account is my hubby's, so sorry if anyone thinks it's really kinky at first ....! Although I think it will be fun to read this aloud to him.....

Please bring me back to the disaster that is Earth if being abducted means I have to read this book.
*Please note that this review contains spoilers, as I couldn't properly explain some of my issues with it without giving away parts of the plot.*This was my first foray into alien romance. I’ve heard so much about it that I had to give it a shot, and this just happened to be the first title I ran into on my Kindle that I’m sure I got for free through a BookBub promotion a million years ago. I have to say that it started off fairly strong. The premise of Megan getting abducted after being shoved into the ocean by her boyfriend was, if obviously sad, actually pretty funny. But it’s pretty much all downhill from there. There is a distinct lack of lore in this book for what is, technically speaking, a sci-fi novel. I get the idea of trying to provide atmosphere without giving too much information, since this is a romance first and science fiction second, but a lot of the references were just confusing. For instance, is a galactic cycle a year, or some other unit of time? Is it super integral to know for the plot? No, but the author brought it up, so I had the question. Tren also barely seems to be an alien. He has no balls, no nipples, and pointy teeth, but otherwise, he’s humanoid, so I’m not sure what the point is. There are plenty of romance novels with tons of human sex in them that are less arduous to read, so I was expecting something a little different, at least. Maybe that’s just my inexperience with this genre, but it was sort of a letdown.A few things about this novel make this author a future hard pass for me. I realize that the novel was written in 2011 and I’m reading it in 2022. I know that we’re more aware now, but even eleven years ago, I would have considered this novel gross. Tren constantly threatens to sell Megan into sexual slavery to punish her for having a big mouth, and he is misogynistic to the core. I don’t know if it’s just his race that views females, as he calls them, as useful for only sex, but it’s really tiring to hear him say over and over. There’s body negativity present for both skinny and plus-size women, and even though Megan spends basically the entire novel having what she thinks is meaningless sex with Tren, she repeatedly refers to other women who just happen to be in his presence as sluts. Honestly, the only reason I finished the book was because it was so short, and then, at the very end, I was rewarded with both a racist joke and a plan to use rape as punishment out of nowhere. I would have stopped reading at that point if I hadn’t literally had one page left. Saying that once you go purple, you don’t go back (Tren is purple) obviously references a phrase with racist origins. Definitely not acceptable. And while I would have been totally fine with Tren returning to Earth to kill Megan’s murderous ex, the decision to drop him off at a particularly perverted brothel is just disgusting, especially since Megan spends a good portion of the novel not wanting to be sold into sexual slavery herself.I’ll try other alien romances to see if there are better examples of the genre, but I won’t be reading Eve Langlais again. Maybe she’s gotten better, but I don’t have the desire to find out.

mouthy done well
Usually books that start of with “stubborn, mouthy,” etc women, I avoid. It’s usually a nice way of saying stupid, spoiled, whiney, etc. This story surprised me. Character and story written well enough to not make me constantly cringe at the h actions.

Glad I didn't pay for this. I won't be buying any more
I downloaded this as it was free and had some really good reviews. I was deeply disappointed. I love the genre but not this particular style of writing. For example if the lead male is going to swear all the time at least use the actual word. Changing it to frukx is, for me, deeply annoying and totally unnecessary especially as they all have translators and everything else is in ordinary English/American. Just using the one different word does not remind me that he is an alien it just makes me wonder why the author bothered.Yes there was an actual plot, yes the sex scenes were ok but unfortunately I just didn't find a lot of the humour funny. I much prefer S.E. Smith but I realise that is a very personal thing. And the trailer for the next book in the series didn't make me want to dash out and buy it. So sorry but I will be giving this author a miss from now on.

Amazing!!!!
Wow what a book! A steamy read that you won't be able to put down! This is the first book that I have read by this author although I have been meaning to read her work for quite a while. Really wish that I hadn't waited because her writing is awesome and super addictive!I loved the storyline! Definitely a new spin on a knight in shining armour and I loved it. I loved all the twists and turns in this book, it's non stop action right up to the end! The characters are amazing to read and I absolutely adored Megan's stubbornness and inner fire, love how sassy that she is and that she never gives up!!I can't rate this book highly enough and I really can't wait to read more of her work. Definitely 5* book

Loved it
If you want a raunchy book, with lots of action both in and out of the bedroom with just as much sassy back chat then you really will enjoy this.I really enjoyed reading this, and the main characters are so well written that you really can't wait to read more. There were quite a few oarts that didn't sound too realistic which is why it only gets ****

Good
I did enjoy this book, but not as much as other alien romances I’ve read. I think the storyline could have been more exciting and the characters better portrayed, the human female in particular. I like this author however, so I will read the next book in the series, and hopefully it will be better.
