Amazing product. The uses of this tripod goes beyond ...
Amazing product. The uses of this tripod goes beyond normal obvious scenarios. I bought it only for shots that need to be taken from a top angle. Have wrapped its legs around multiple objects at few wedding mandaps & spots for an otherwise unreachable angle. It easily carried the weight of a Canon Mk3 with wide lenses & also handled Nikon D750 with 85mm 1.8 lenses. It may not handle well with a heavy lens like 24-70 f2.8 or 70-200 f2.8, and similar heavy pro lenses. But otherwise it does its job perfect with most camera-lens combinations. I use it for table top recording for youtube vlogs too. The rubber padding at leg ends does a fine job of keeping the equipment from slipping. Great product!

Excellent travel tripod - Once you make an important addition.
The Joby Gorillapod SLR Zoom will be no stranger to those who've owned any of the other gorillapods. This one is just bigger, stronger and sturdier. For those who dont know, the gorillapod is a simple ball and socket arrangement that forms the legs. Each of these segments can bend, twist and rotate to grip any protrusion such as a railing, branch etc. These segments also have a rubber grip ring molded around it to aid grip. Overall the construction of the SLR Zoom is solid and sturdy. As with any friction fit setup, overtime the gorillapod will get flaccid (A man's worst nightmare!). What is important is how long it takes before this happens. So far, people have claimed years of moderate use. I would say, even with daily twisting and bending, it should last at least a year. For best stability in tripod mode, I use what I call a 60-90 Arrangement. First bend the legs outward from the base of the head 60 degrees or till it wont move anymore. Then bend the leg down, at its middle by another 90 degrees. This will give it a spider like poise and offers the best stability. I have had my 5D3+70-200f/2.8 in this configuration and it held without issues. So you're safe there. As for wrapping it around a branch etc., I always have a tether attached to the camera so that even if the tripod/head gives, my gear is safe. I would strongly suggest you do this too.Now the important bit. The head. The BH1 head is, for lack of a better term, utterly useless. For the intended purpose of this tripod ie. Firstly, the base plate and mounting arm is plastic and does not inspire any confidence. The pivot and ball arrangement is aluminium and is strudy enough but makes no difference because of the plastic plate and arm. Secondly, many of us have a main tripod at home and having to change plates is a pain in the you know where.Enter the Manfrotto 494RC2. The RC2 plate is perhaps most common Manfrotto attachment type. The 494 is a tiny head, almost the size of the Joby BH1 but is exponentially better built. The added advantage to me is that I have a 055XPRO3 and a 190CXPRO4, both with heads that accept the RC2 plate. So I can continue to leave the RC2 attached to my camera body and lenses. No need to change plates everytime I want to use the gorillapod. If you have an existing tripod/head from a reliable brand, see if they make smaller heads which take the same plate. You will not be disappointed. The BH1 now does duty as a flash mount. And it excels in that role.Apart from that, this is a recommended product. I bought it for Rs.1990 with the head thrown in free. From a value perspective, the utility is worth the money, but the product is not. I would say if you get it for 1-1.5k, go for it. Else wait till the price drops or a flash sale pops up. As always, Amazon Fulfillment is simply awesome.

Engineering miracle ...great design...great concept.
Great design & cocept by Jobby. You can use it in any situation & on any surface, also on a branch of a tree or a pole or any thing. It really hangs on such thing like a real Gorilla..!!. I bought for my DSLR , with loading capacity of 3 Kg, as I like to photograph from unusual angles, and this is perfect for it. It comes with a ball head so you can change from landscape to portrait . My personal advise to any body who is planning to buy Gorilla pod..." Buy a gorilla pod with higher load capacity...so....you can use it with mobile phone, handycam, and also a DSLR. Foe mobile phone you need to buy a separate holder which costs only 150 to 200 ruppes"

Sturdy/10, would buy again
Works well for its purpose. Build quality is top-notch, the grip is very sturdy. It can hold a standard dSLR with a kit lens without any issues. Can be attached to a slippery metal pole and it won't slide off. The ball-head is easy to adjust and works well when you need to shift or pan the camera. The 360 mechanism is an added bonus. Overall, pleasantly surprised by this and would recommend it to anyone who needs to shoot timelapses, or just needs some kind of support for long exposure shots. Even while shooting handheld at low shutter speeds, if you hold it right, it can eliminate some vibration.

Brilliant product.
This product is worth every penny. It's very handy, fits your bag easily, clamps on to almost everything and is very light. I use Nikon D7000 which is more than 1kg this tripod handles it easily. Saw it somewhere that it had magnets in the bottom most ball. But after I received my product it's clear it doesn't have one.

Very Sturdy, Excellent Built Quality
This is an essential for your vlogging gear. If you want to record yourself in the camera or if you want to record time-lapse videos, it will serve as a savior. In my opinion, a photography enthusiast should have at least one of the various Joby Gorillapods, based on his needs. What made me choose this over Joby Gorrilapod Focus is the quick release option which is very convenient. Overall, it's a great product but it's kinda overpriced.

The Gorrillapod will last for the ages! Very Strong!
I had heard a lot about Gorrillapod Flexible Tripod, which increased my curiosity to try it out!The tripod is build very strongly! I must say that it will last for ages and my kids will be able to use it.It made from high end material. The ball head is smooth to operate. With Gorrillapod, I was able to take some awesome timelapses.I have hooked it to terraces, railings, trees, vehicles etc. And, everytime, my camera was safe. The only con that I found is that it little heavy to carry everywhere. Along with the camera, it become little heavy. (on self shooting mode)Overall the tripod just rocks. You can also give a try to one step lower version, "Original gorrilapod", which is smaller and lighter. Thanks to Amazon for timely delivery.
