Poor design/manuafcture
The gas struts themselves seem okay. However, the end ball joints have about 4mm of play in them. Additionally, the hole in the mounting brackets to accept the ball joints threaded part have the hole drilled way too big, or I had the wrong mounting brackets in the pack. Either way, not recommended at all.

DO THIS BEFORE BUYING!
4 Steps BEFORE buying: 1) Weigh the door you need to hold up. Either detach it and put it on a scale, or prop it up with a piece of wood and put the end of the prop on a scale. Then subtract the weight of the wood prop. It is VITAL to know how much lift you need. 2) Measure how long you need the lift to be. Measure the diagonal from about 2 inches from the bottom edge of the door to about 2 inches from the inside end of the cabinet or frame. Take that measurement and cut it in half. That's the length of the black cylinder which is how these are advertised, (if your total distance is 20 inches, then you need a 10 inch gas lift). 3) Make sure to buy a TWO gas lift set! These are almost always sold in sets which is a good thing. The advertised lifting weight of the set is the TOTAL weight of the door you need to lift, (if you buy a 20 pound lift set, you need to install BOTH lift cylinders to get 20 pounds in the air). Finally, 4) Make sure your frame/cabinet and door have secure mounting areas for the lift cylinders. If you're mounting onto press board use heavy duty screws! Bolts and nuts are a better option, but that's up to you. The lifts WILL tear out if not securely attached to both the door AND the frame. There is a LOT of torque from the lifts when in use, so make those attachment points SOLID. Good luck and do your homework!
