SPACE Ibiza is by far the No. 1 dance club in the world, and has been responsible for legendary opening and closing parties on the White Isle since 1989. Anyone travelling to Ibiza, and indeed for those who have never been, SPACE Ibiza is an iconic name and one to be revered. With the venue in its 27th and final year, and having played host to many of the world's finest DJs, it is the pinnacle of everything that is good about the club scene and Ibiza in general. So it is with great honour that Cr2 Records is compiling this year’s compilation album. The 2016 edition sees an array of talent mixing the album, not least from Mr Space himself Carl Cox who has held his legendary residency at the club for 15 years mixing disc 1. Techno wizards Pig&Dan are on duty to mix disc 2 and Cr2 Record’s own Mark Brown carefully curates and mixes disc 3. Review: Epic in triplicate - Think some folk are either reviewing the wrong release here or are suffering some download issues. I bought this CD upon it's release and it is awesome, all 3 mixes are superb and truly indicative of a night/day at Space. Cox, P&D and Mark Brown have turned in some absolute belters, all mixes are atmospheric, uplifting, melodic, well-structured and for the most part pretty damn hard. Cox flips between pounding techno/tech house and funkier derivatives, P&D just unleash 80 mins of beautifully crafted atmospheric techno and Mark Brown takes us on an almost Sashaesque journey starting funky(ish) and becoming deeper and more progressive as the mix moves forward, if you've been to Space and seen these artists perform just buy it, you will not be dissatisfied. Review: Excellent Mixes - Carl Cox and Pig & Dan mixes are excellent, quality underground Tech House close to the sound of a night at Space. Shame the MYNC mix starts well but tales off from the mid point into plodding Lounge House that wouldn't get you on a dance floor. Auto rip is faulty and has been reported, you wont get a download version of this CD.
