I got this model for my daughter who loves all things Tesla and she was delighted. It's a really realistic looking Cybertruck and fun model for kids and grown ups alike. Highly recommended!

Real Cybertrucks have just started shipping in the US, but I suspect it’ll be a long time before I see one in the wild in the UK, so I’ll have to make do with this toy for now.The shape is blatantly modelled on the Tesla Cybertruck. The second product photo, at time of writing, shows the Tesla brand “T” logo on the front of the vehicle. When it arrives, that branding is missing- there are two stickers in the boot of the vehicle which you can choose to stick on yourself. Other than that, there’s studiously no mention of ‘Tesla’ or its logo anywhere on the toy or its box. The display stand has the wording “XinHaoDi Model” displayed prominently on it, which could hardly make more obvious the loose cultural attitudes of certain countries towards copyright and intellectual property.The stupidest thing about this toy is the sounds. When you pull it back to let it fly, it makes motor noises- the motor noises of a PETROL car, complete with ignition starting and revving. Electric vehicles are common enough now that even most kids will know that that’s not the sound an electric vehicle like a Cybertruck is going to make. An electronic hum, as well as being more accurate, would have been much, much cooler. But toddlers who are only interested in a push-along car won’t be fussed. The toy also makes loud, grating and wholly inaccurate noises when the front driver or passenger doors are opened or closed- electronic locking and alarm noises that would’ve sounded old-fashioned in the 1990’s.Apart from the terrible sounds, the build quality is generally OK. It’s quite heavy for its size, which seems fitting for the Cybertruck design. It seems reasonably durable (hopefully more durable than the one Elon Musk smashed a window on a few years ago), particularly in the overall chassis. The opening and closing doors seem strong enough to withstand the attention of young kids. The rear boot and removable louder panel are a bit flimsier though, and the panel comes completely loose so there is a danger of it getting lost. The fact a Cybertruck doesn’t have wing mirrors removes one of the most commonly fragile parts of kids’ vehicle toys from the equation.I’ve put this on a shelf behind my desk, and I can say “I’ve got a Tesla” if anybody spots it while I’m on a video call. But anything closer than that quite distant scrutiny exposes this toy as being a knock-off, and especially so if you actually move the wheels or open the doors. But if you’re going to be giving it to a toddler who just wants a flashing toy they can crash into things, a lot of that won’t matter.The Cybertruck is likely to go down in motoring history as one of the real oddities. So while the quality of this as a toy leaves a bit to be desired, the unique angular futuristic style of a Cybertruck itself makes this quite a nice piece to look at. Better for a far-away shelf than for the toy box.
