Not for me
All I wanted was a media player with a HDD so I could load some media to watch on the TV. Firstly you must go through set up via signing into Google, then downloading apps as for straight media player this has NONE pre-loaded on the system, went through the hoops of downloading the Dune HD apk only to find that that it goes BLANK when launched - after rebooting showed the screen once then did not work. Enough was enough - will find something else - only buy if you like to set things up yourself and have lots of patience for the hoops that you will be going through.

Not a bad unit for your personal media collection although not the easiest to use ,also doesn't do a great of pulling meta data for your movie collection. Otherwise a nice compact unit with good specs and the bonus of Google TV operating system... just better units out there aka ..Zidoo😉

Won't access my unpowered HD
This unit is a great make its packed full of features I used to own an old model so thought this was a great purchase not so much.Yes it has apps and streaming services but none of this interested me as my tv already provides all of this I purchased this only for media player.It has 2 usb ports 3.0 but neither of them would access my 4tb western digital HD, the hard drive takes its power from the unit that its plugged into ie a TV or pc etc the dune would not recognise this.I have a 30 pound budget media player that finds it straight away so I was very disappointed in this dune player.I emailed there support with a detailed description of what was going on there reply was did I download the media player any body with half a brain would no that with out the media player software installed the hard drive would not be visible anyway.So I've sent it back my advice to dune check your support and ditch all the netflix etc I just wonted the media player not a store front.And yes I updated to the newist firmware.

Fiddly interface and doesn't seem to work properly with my LG Oled
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the excellent Zidoo players (I have a Z1000 Pro in my cinema room) to use with my LG OLED. However it just didn't work properly. If I connected it via the soundbar it would only work in 1080p mode and no Dolby Vision. If I connected it directly to the TV then I couldn't get any sound over e-arc. Both the Zidoo and Apple TV work in both scenarios so I know its a problem with the Dune player only. I returned it as it just wouldn't play ball with my TV and soundbar.
