Q: I can't decide between the original beast rope and this one - is this worth the extra £10?

Both are great ropes. The Pro has a slightly thicker and heavier cable for extra momentum, a new more advanced ball bearing system which includes double ball bearings hidden in the handles, a more advanced attachment and adjustment system and doesn't have the hand screws on the original - instead, it is adjusted with an Allen key. Overall it is faster, smoother, has more momentum. It's not so much for sharing with your training buddies because after you adjust it, it takes longer to re-adjust. But the adjustment is more secure/permanent. The bag that comes with the pro has a zip rather than a drawstring. Q: Does this rope have a bit of weight when skipping, im looking for a heavyish rope for double unders?

It's very lightweight! I'd suggest getting something with a bit more weight if you're learning to DU so you can feel where the rope is. Once you have them nailed then this is great because being lightweight it's less taxing on your shoulders.

Q: Does the pro come with the protective cover for use outdoors? Or should I get the original version?

My one did come with the protective cover (adds weight and upsets balance of the rope IMO so I don't like it personally).
