The positives are that it does produce evenly toasted bread and the browning control works well. It also handles single slices on the same setting without over toasting. A big negative is the inadequate length of the slots for for toasting standard english sliced loaf bread. You can only insert the narrow side, which means a small part of the slice doesn't get toasted without reinserting and retoasting. There is also no indicated way of adjusting the toaster for frozen bread. By deduction, I believe this can be done by using the Gluten Free button which extends the toasting time. I did attempt to get an answer to this query from Lakeland but they failed to provide any advice.

Stylish looking but oh so slow
I bought a new house and wanted some nice accessories to go in Kettle and it was great . Good looking, well made and pretty speedy ... Then I decided to get the Crux toaster to match ...Once again it is a good looking piece of kit but sadly it's 'All show and no go'This has got to be the SLOWEST toaster on the planet .. I have only ever had cheapo toasters in the past but all of them were at least double the speed of this dinosaur ....If it's only for show I would recommend it .... But if you like a bit of toast ... you will die of starvation waiting for it !!

Not really good for the price
Very slow, and the slots aren’t quite long enough for a standard slice of bread so you end up having to stand in front of the toaster for five minutes or so, popping up the toast to turn it. I expected better for the premium price

High price to pay for something that cannot toast Crumpets without them become stuck and difficult to get out!

Toaster faulty. Very disappointed
The toaster has not worked properly since the first use. Only the right side of toaster works. Left side not working at all. Very disappointed considering the price of the toaster. Thought I was buying quality.

Covered in glued on stickers that are the devil to remove
The item arrived with stickers stuck on it that were a devil to remove and leave a bloom that detracts from the very sleek profile that attracted me in the first place. Upon calling the company to get advice about removal, there was no official advice.
