Good looking book! Not most solid but worth the $$

This is a gorgeous edition of the writings of Marcus Aurelius. The page edges are gold as well as the front script. The chapters are short with space between for easy contemplation. The print is not too small, which is important to me. One unfortunate thing is that the pages are stuck together. I figure I can unstick them as I read. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

Book Physical Quality: Could be better, papers are thin and ink is bleeding through, and thus distracting. Translation is making it harder to read, as much as I can understand why, it kills the flow, I'm resorting to another translation. Maybe I should be a stoic and read it anyways.

There are so many versions of Meditations. Reviews of which version to get is hard sometimes because the photos were not matching the book I was looking to order. I do own another version that is annotated which I do like to help expand on some of the thoughts but THIS version is what I was looking for. Simple. A bit more artistic. Hardcover. Each page is spread out and the thoughts are spaced out. This is a type of book that one can enjoy in bite sized snippets to ponder and this book showcases that. The pages are thin but it makes it feel artistic. I love the fact this was written nearly 2000 years ago. If you are looking for an artistic version, you too will be happy with this version like I am for a reasonable price.

Some pages are a bit faded, but all in all this book is a great read and a perfect gift. I bought two copies - one for myself and one for a friend as a gift. The hard covers with golden ornaments feels like good quality
