I get a lot of kids' musical instruments for the toddler music program I run, between replacing instruments that break or wear out and those that are used as incentives/gifts/raffles, so I see a lot of different sets. This is a very nice set, with decent sound for instruments intended for very young children--they aren't too loud, which parents will likely appreciate, but are loud enough for kids to enjoy making music. My only caution with this set is the shaker eggs. I have seen kids between two and three years old fit an entire egg this size in their mouths, and I worry that one good inhale would wedge it in the back of the throat in a way that would obstruct breathing. I prefer to give younger kids larger plastic or wooden eggs, but these could be used if the child is supervised during use. With that one caution, this is a great set!
