Top of the line gauge that does what it says
I ended up splurging on this gauge even though I could have less costly BluVac versions. If you've bought an vacuum pump for your auto AC work, you really need a micron gauge to ensure you pull a proper vacuum (which removes water). Without a micron gauge you're just taking a pot-shot as to whether the job was done correctly. The BluVac's make it extremely easy to know the job is done correctly with builtin alarms and leak-down tests.

works great
some may not want to invest in this tool because only the customer wins when the system is proven dry. back in the day, we put the pump on for an hour, went to lunch and charged it. Which ones failed early??? We never had any die early. However, this is what the industry wants. What I like about this one is it tells you if your getting anywhere by letting it continue to pump. very nice
This is an older version and I offer some tips. Do not use the body for holding the male use a wrench. The housing is just plastic and the plastic support will loosen over time because some people use the body to secure it. They say it is designed to do so but I don't buy it. I would remove the steel hook. ESD, magnetic pickup you name it does not need to be near computer hardware. I put a few drops of CLEAR gorilla glue on the one side of the nut facing the front leaving the back unglued and using 2 strips of masking tape as a gasket increasing the force of the back shell holding the fitting. Tight as a drum now. I also put tape over the hook hole and around the housing to help strain relief the housing screws. I also am GENTLE on the cheap membrane push buttons as this will wear out more quickly. The glue may be a problem if I want to remove housing but I have a razor knife. I keep it in a pistol hard case and treat it like a delicate instrument instead of a hammer.
