WOW!
First thing, this tv gets very bright. I’ve read some reviews and watched reviews on you tube that say the upscaling isn’t that good, well it’s not perfect but it’s more than acceptable. HDR and HDR10 are absolutely incredible. Haven’t watched anything with Dolby Vision yet, only had it 2 days. I can say the sound gets loud, however I did not use the tv speakers for long, I hooked my soundbar, it excepted without a problem. I’m not a big fan of google tv because of their tracking history but the interface is easy to navigate. I use prime video and watch local channels with an antenna. I had to turn down the brightness a bit, those 1500 nits are no joke. I made slight tweaks to the other picture adjustments like color and hue but pretty much out of the box it’s a great picture. If you are on the fence about an OLED or QLED, you would be very happy with this. The blacks are stunning, and this coming from someone who didn’t really notice that before. The white is very white and bright, that’s why I turned the brightness down. The colors are amazing. Bottom line, for less than $1000 this is really fantastic buy. Update: Ok I have had the U8K for a month now, I realize picture settings are a personal taste, however here is what I am using. SDR: Theater Day. Local dimming, medium (for HDR as well). HDR: IMAX. Brightness, contrast and color are way too personal, so it’s up to what you like. I do have my color temperature set to warm 1. As I don’t mind the “soap opera” effect, I have smooth gradient set to medium and motion enhancement on smooth. Super Resolution is on, everything else under Clarity is turned off. I hope that helps, enjoy your U8K as much as I am. Update 2: Dolby Vision is unbelievable as is HDR10+. My first football season with U8K, watched college football last weekend and watching Ravens at KC now. Can’t wait to watch my Lions, the picture is fantastic. Update: 1 year to the day I bought it, the remote started acting up. Would scroll from top to bottom and side to side. Wouldn’t stop. The tv would not turn off. I had to physically unplug. Dealt with that for 3 days. Did a factory reset, repaired the remote, since no problems. Thought it was a bug in the tv. Hope this helps anyone having this problem.

“Perfect Family Entertainment: HINESE 100-Inch TV Review”
As someone who’s getting a bit older and finding it harder to see the fine details without my glasses, this HINESE 100-Inch TV has been an absolute game-changer for me! The massive, crystal-clear screen makes everything pop—whether it’s watching my favorite shows or enjoying family movie nights, I can finally see every detail without straining my eyes. The picture quality is stunning, and the size is just perfect for our living room setup. My family absolutely loves it too! From the kids to the grandparents, everyone gathers around to watch, and the vibrant colors and sharp resolution bring our favorite characters (like those adorable ones from Bluey!) to life. The setup was a breeze, and the sound quality is impressive, though we’ve paired it with a soundbar for that extra cinematic feel. It’s become the heart of our home entertainment, and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Highly recommend the HINESE 100-Inch TV to anyone looking for a top-notch, easy-to-see, family-friendly viewing experience! 5 stars all the way! ★★★★★ Happy Customer, June 17, 2025

Stunning display with a few minor complaints
This TV (Hisense 55U8K) is an absolute treat to the eyes when watching movies, shows, or playing games. Photos don't do it justice you have to see it in person to fully experience it. I have some cons that I am listing as well as pros. The cons don't stop me from enjoying this TV any less they are just some things to keep in mind if you decide to get this TV. I am not mentioning specs much in the review as they are mentioned above in the listing and spec sheet. For a full review of every little spec and detail see rtings.com (not misspelled) review. Overall, this TV is great for those interested in really any kind of content but just keep some of the cons in mind. Pros: *Automatic picture settings works amazing at recognizing the content type and adjusting to it, (must be enabled in settings). *4K 120hz is native and even games that don'ts support it benefit from reduced latency (like in the Forza Horizon 5 photos). *Everything looks so life like and clear, haven't run into anything looking off or terrible. Even old games are upscaled and look fine. *The speakers are amazing, the subwoofer makes action in movies truly immersive. *Price is way lower than other comparable displays. *Micro LED so no burn in and has good contrast especially blacks. *Dolby Vision and HDR are both supported unlike Samsung displays. *The game bar and FPS viewing are nice features for gamers. Cons: *AV (component) is supported but the adapter needed is not included, you have to go their support site to have them send you it. *When changing picture mode out of Auto you have to go back into the TV settings to turn it back on. *Only 2 HDMI ports are 144hz with one being the E-ARC and the other two just regular 4K 60hz. *Google TV setup makes you accept their privacy terms and such which is annoying. Auto content recognition requires accepting Hisense privacy terms. *Onboard storage is known to a fault with Hisense so using a Fire stick or Roku will extend the life of your TV. *Don't sell my information is off by default *You have to change the HDMI configuration on each port to enhanced for 4k content to work correctly

Amazing (for a va display at least) (U8k 55" review)
Games and shows and movies have inky black levels, super bright white levels, and colors pop vibrantly. Not really any noticable blooming in dark scenery with spots of light, though I have astigmatism so everything has blooming, even in real life, so I tend to not notice as much in tvs. I did need to play with the settings for about 30 minutes to get everything the way I like it, but after that it's one of the best displays I've seen in awhile, especially for the sale price. Pc usage wasn't so bad either, but suffers from the typical ghosting and whatnot va panels are known for. Terrible side viewing, but not really an issue as tv is in a corner and always facing near directly. Overall amazing picture, just not out of the box. Used a PS5 with HDMI 2.1 cable for video and game testing, and pc with GTX 3070 and HDMI 2.1 cable for pc (and pc gaming ) testing. Only thing I REALLY HATE is the legs...I wish it was like my older tv with a middle base (that also swiveled). You need a WIDE tv stand if you want to use this thing and I HATE that...it's the primary reason I didn't go bigger than the 55"... can't fit anything wider...so dumb...almost wanted to give it 3 stars for that alone (kidding).

DO NOT BUY THIS TV FROM AMAZON - GO TO BEST BUY
UPDATE #2: SO AFTER MONTHS OF FIGHTING WITH HISENSE OVER THE LEMON OF A TV I HAD - I NOW REALIZE THAT THE AUDIO DEFECT WAS WITHIN THE TV - BUT AMAZON (OR ONE OF ITS PARTNERS) RESOLD THIS TV, KNOWING IT HAD AUDIO PROBLEMS!! I REPURCHASED THIS REPLACEMENT TV FROM BEST BUY AND WHEN I TELL YOU THE SOUND QUALITY IS PHENOMENAL, AND SO IS THE PICTURE QUALITY. AFTER SEEING BEST BUY UNBOX MY TV - I REALIZED THAT ALL OF THE PACKAGING AND STICKERS, AND WRAPPING DID NOT COME ON THE TV FROM AMAZON. CLEARLY, THIS TV HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY UNBOXED AND IN SOMEONES HOME. IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME THIS TV WAS RETURNED, AND RESOLD AS A NEW TV - DEFECTS AND ALL!!! I WAS HESITANT ABOUT PURCHASING THIS TV AGAIN - BUT AFTER GOING INTO THE BEST BUY STORE - THEY CONVINCED ME THAT THEY WERE GOOD TV’s - SO I BEGRUDGINGLY ORDERED IT!! AGAIN - THIS ONE TV IS NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE COMPARED TO THE ONE ORDERED FROM AMAZON. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND BUY FROM BEST BUY WITH THEIR PROTECTION PLAN - I THAT SAVES YOU THE HASSLE OF DEALING WITH HISENSE’s HORRIBLE WARRANT SERVICES UPDATE: It is now May 3rd, and as of yesterday, I no longer have the TV as Hisense sent a field tech out here to my home to destroy the TV!!! They determined that there was a glitch in the TV Panel and opted to destroy it - however they did not take into account that the 2-4 weeks afterwards while waiting for my refund, I would be without a TV in my living room (not really as I still have my 55 inch, but still). They opted for the refund because they did not have anymore of this unit in stock in their warehouse …… I told them I would pay the difference for The upgrade just to have a new TV installed …. They said they could not do that! So strange because Sony upgraded me from a 50 to a 55 when my previous TV gave problems and had to be replaced. Although I had a great rep at Hisense, his name was Gabriel - he was informative, understanding, and proactive - HISENSE AS A WHOLE HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/POLICIES & PROCEDURES I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!! THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER, ITS ALLLL ABOUT THEIR BOTTOM LINE OF RETAINIG MONEY I Purchased this TV in December of 2024. Had it mounted in January of 2025. I noticed when unwrapping it that it did not have the protective film over the screen like all new TV’s do. No worries - I did not stress (WARNIG #1). Upon getting it mounted, and working - My Bose surround sound system would not work with the TV for some reason ….. it had worked perfectly on the previous Sony TV I had it hooked up to (WARNING#2). No worries, I purchased a Hisense Soundbar, like the one I have in my bedroom. Had problems with it connecting and working properly. After hours of fiddling I got the sound connected (WARNING #3). Once I started watching it, I noticed the sound was skipping here and there (WARNING #4). The HDMI port that controls the soundbar functions went out, after it had been working with no problem (WARNING #5). The TV then starts to turn itself on & off by itself (WARNING #6). I called Hisense and they are sending a tech out to the home to replace the motherboard and something else. I will keep you all posted on the update of the Tech visit- but one would think after all of these mishaps they would at least, swap out the TV for a new one, but a rep said their warranty policy is to try to repair the TV first……WHO PAYS THIS MUCH FOR A TV, ONLY TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS ALL WITHIN THE FIRST 90 DAYS? I’m not sure if Hisense is at fault for a defective product or if this was a TV that Amazon had returned by another customer - but at this point I BLAME THEM BOTH!!!

Amazing for the Price!
This TV is Amazing. 100'' is Huge. I have been a Samsung only guy since Panasonic stopped making Plasma TV's. This Hisense is replacing a Samsung 82" Q8F. Was a little hesitant to go with a Hisense instead of Samsung, or Sony / LG. But for the price / size this TV has no match. Picture quality is amazing. Color / blacks are better than the Samsung it replaced. HDR and Dolby Vision look awesome. The only downsides I have noticed with this TV is the Brightness. 1500 nits is a lot less then my Samsung Q8F 5000 nits. For me this is not a problem at all since it's in a theatre room that is almost pitch black. If you put this in a very bright room you might have a less than ideal experience. Now don't get me wrong, its not super dim just a large difference when coming from a 5000nits peak of the Samsung. The weight and thickness. This is not a thin TV by todays standards. She's a THICK girl. Again not a big deal for me. If your looking for a very large TV that looks great and don't want to spend 10-30 thousand on a Samsung or Sony, and you don't mind the physical size of this monster than its a fantastic deal.

Change Picture mode to “Standard” from “Energy Saving”
Great TV Incredible picture!!! Built in subwoofer and speakers are AWESOME!!! Tried to run it with my Apple TV (like a Roku box) - worked ok - but smart features built into TV to improve picture were disabled…. The Apple streaming box was also 30 fps and a 2017 version…. So - if you are not willing to log into Google to use the Google TV interface (and get more than the 5 or so apps which come with the TV) - move on or get an updated Roku Ultra streaming box. I initially logged into Google TV - but I have to admit the Android operating system could be slow… UPDATE: The only way you can get more than the 5 or so streaming channels that come on the TV is by signing into Google…. I grew weary of Google wanting everything - and the slow Google TV interface - so I purchased a ROKU Ultra - and have been able to get the same quality video on the Roku’s Netflix app as I can with the Hisense built in Netflix app… Update 2 - I really should have complimented Hisense on the AWESOME built in subwoofer and speakers. 99% of users will not need to spring for a soundbar…. 6 stars out of 5! I used input 1 for my Roku. IMPORTANT - to get the best picture - go to Hisense Settings, select “Picture”, and then, under “General”, select “Picture Mode”, and select “Standard”. The TV comes with the “Picture Mode” set to “Energy Saving” by DEFAULT - which dims the display…. Makes no sense - you buy the TV because of its brightness level - and it comes delivered with the brightness turned to “energy saving”…

this Hisense U8K 65” TV is simply a marvel!
Coming from an old (purchased in Dec 2013), 60” Samsung Plasma TV (Samsung PN60F5500), this Hisense U8K 65” TV is simply a marvel! For less than $1000 (as of November 2023)!! I’m only using this as a display with Fire TV Stick 4K Max (connected to input 3, which is HDMI 2.1) + Sony PS5 (connected to input 4, which is also HDMI 2.1) + external audio system (through optical output from the TV). I’ve set up the TV to be turned on/off with the Fire TV stick remote control. Volume control is also managed by the same remote control. I rarely ever use the remote control that came with the TV. The TV has smart TV capabilities, but I’m not using any of the apps that come with it. Also, I do not sign into Google on this TV. (Yes, I do not like Google using my data.) The TV is well-built and feels sturdy—certainly not light enough for one person to move around easily. It helps to have at least two pairs of hands to complete the unboxing, assembling, and placing the TV wherever it goes in the house. Unboxing and setting up the TV is super simple. The first thing I did after I got this TV on wi-fi network is go through all settings and turned off all the ones that allow data-gathering by Google / Hisense. Then I updated the firmware. Then turned off wi-fi on the TV. (Will turn it back on when firmware update is needed.) With an antenna in the attic of my house, the ATSC 3.0 tuner in this TV pulls in signals from all the broadcast stations around here (San Jose, CA). With my antenna, it pulled in 121 digital channels. I did not know there were 7 nextgenTV channels (on top of the aforementioned digital channels) here till I saw them on this TV! The picture quality is excellent, with sharp and clear images, accurate colors, and amazing contrast. With high refresh rates on HDMI 2.1 inputs, gaming is super smooth. I’m so spoiled by this TV, I’m returning this one to upgrade to Hisense U7K 75” model for about the same price as this 65” TV!!! If I had space for it, I would go even bigger. In fact, I wish I had a bigger house to get the 75" TV, yet not return this TV.
