Yes you can use pliers. One shoe the old heel came out fine, the second is still a work in progress but only because its worn down so much. I have found you will need to glue the replacements in as they will slip out if you don't. Cheaper than the shoe repair person. Good Luck.

I believe the Description states that you get 2 sets each of 6mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, 12.5mm with 2.4mm posts; and 2 sets each of 6mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, 12.5mm with 3mm posts. This equals 24 pairs. This way, in case you are not absolutely sure of the post size, we get them all. It's a nice set.
