This works by body heat, NOT motion. No more looking for a light switch. When you walk in the room the light comes on. I set this one to stay on for two minutes. This way you can come and go and the light doesn't switch on and off. It worked so well, I bought another and put it in the pantry room because my wife was tired having to always go back and turn OFF the light.. Now, just walk into the pantry room and bang the light is on. I set this one to hold for 20 seconds so it's not on for a long time. This is a great device but it will take some advanced electrical skills. If you don't know electricity, find someone to do it for you, you're messing with your life if you don't know exactly what your doing. Review: Works really well. This is my 2nd purchase. Good detection range. All aspects (sensitivity, ambient light, time delay) are easily adjusted to suit one's particular need. It is nice that it came with a wiring block to make connections a breeze. If there are any misgivings it would be its size. Wish it was smaller. Other than that it is a great product at a really great value!

Installed two yesterday and they function as expected, but the mounting and connection need improvement! Evidently the manufacturer does not intend for it to be mounted to a box as they send plastic anchors for mounting and a 3 wire terminal strip for electrical connections. The mounting holes in the unit do not exactly match any standard electrical box and the unit will barely cover a standard cut-in switch or round fixture box. The decorator cover is hard to get off when installed so I left them off. PS: Two weeks later, one has begun staying on frequently!

The mounting hole do not match a standard electrical box. The screws provided do not match a standard box. The sensitivity setting did not turn it on consistently. It stopped working after 30 minutes. I was a licenced Electrian for 40 years. It was Junk!!!
