A great little honest mixer for the money.
So, I have a big stand mixer for mixing cakes and bread etc, but I wanted a little handheld mixer for small light jobs, such as mixing meringues and whipping cream. My main criteria was, it had to be reasonably powerfully, and not expensive.I was quite surprised that this Morphy Richards was, at the time I purchased, the cheapest mixer on Amazon, as it is a famous name in kitchen appliances. It stated it had a 250w motor, which would be plenty of power for my usage.I'm very pleased with it. The build quality and the internal parts are of a good quality (Photo), and as you can see (photo), it is a 250w motor. On many of the cheap generic ones, it will say it has a huge powerful motor, but when you look, they turn out to be running off of very weak 150w motors. The only weakness I can see, is that the ventilation slots at each end are very open, so the internals could get gunked up with fine powders. As you may be able to see in the photo, there is a fine layer of icing sugar over everything, when I used it to make Royal Icing. In practice, it will probably make little difference, although if you do find it doesn't turn on, I would unplug it, and then try running the speed selector up and down a few times, to clean off the contacts. As I said, I tested it out by making Royal Icing, which as you may know, is a stiff mixture of egg whites and icing sugar. It performed very well, I never needed to go above speed 2 and it never felt underpowered. The instructions state that you must only use it for 5 minutes continuously, and then, if you do, rest for 20 minutes before using again.I would say that that would mainly apply for very stiff mixes that will cause the motor to run hot. However, I did turn it off for a few seconds, as I added more icing sugar, just to be safe. The body never increased in temperature at all, indicating to me, that the motor was absolutely fine. The beaters are nice and solid, and just push into the 2 holes on the bottom. They are released by pressing the big button on the top. They are very easy to hand wash with no little crevices or seams to hide any food. There is a momentary switch under the handle, which, with a press, will take you to top speed, a useful little feature.Overall, I'm very pleased. It was very cheap when compared with many others. It's built well and in use has performed faultlessly. It isn't really designed for big heavy mixes (such as a rich fruit cake), but for most other jobs, would be more than adequate.I hope you found this review helpful.

Great little mixer without frills.
I love Kenwood for the kitchen especially in relation to baking. I wasted a hand held mixer for a while for small projects so as not to have to use the chef. This model is the usual high standard. The cord is quite short but so long as you are not far from a plug socket that's good. The older models had longer ones but they could get in the way! The engine seems very good and though there is no extra slow mixing that part I would only use a wooden spoon anyway. I think this is a good model for use if u are doing a recipe that involves using a brain marie. I am delighted with purchase and it was a very good offer price. Arrived in great condition in a box. Only needs a small place to store.

Good sturdy affordable, but too powerful at lowest speed setting
Just needed a reasonably priced hand mixer and this works well. I like the design of how it can stand on its own on the kitchen slab because of its flat end in between using. The only drawback because of which I am giving it 4 not 5 stars is it’s high power even at lowest setting. I was expecting setting 1 will be moderate to low speed but it’s way too high for making butter cream or whipping eggs for example.. I did not return it as I think I can make it work still but if someone is looking for more precision in their mixing, do consider that speed issue.

Works well, quite fast
This handmixer is a higher wattage than most others. It has 5 speed settings, but even the lowest one was very quick in comparison to my previous one at max speed.I was worried if it was too fast and overbeat my ingredients, but it was okay.Because the it spins so fast, I would be careful when adding ingredients while mixing, as they might fling back at your arms. The mixer only comes with one pair of the standard mixing 'beaters', no dough kneading attachment unfortunately, it would have worked great too.Overall its a good mixer, and like other hand mixers, it can eject the 'beaters' with a button for easy cleaning.

Very high value for the price!
This was definitely worth the price and I’m very glad I purchased this item! It’s got an excellent amount of power to it, it’s easy to hold, it’s not heavy at all, the noise isn’t too much at all and it’s easy to remove the little bits to it.

Lasted 3 years. Lowest speed too fast
Bought in 2021, lasted 3 years before the beaters broke. Unable to find replacements that fit, I've had to replace the mixer. Other issue is,mis that the slowest speed is too fast.Ok mixer for the price.
