There is no comparison between this and other plexi cutters. I tried a scorer, an oscillating tool, a saw. . . . OK, the table saw worked well but I don't like putting acrylic on the saw. But the scorer does not score adequately (even with multiple passes) and the oscillating tool melts the acrylic. This tool, though, works incredibly well. I use it in my mat cutter so that I can hold the plexi in place and score it along the guide. I score it a half dozen times and it snaps with ease. Well worth the money!

I teach printmaking and drawing in a small college and often assist students in exhibiting their work. We use plexiglass as an efficient way to protect artwork. We also recycle the plexi and that sometimes requires recutting to fit artwork. This cutter is really great in that it is easy to use and cuts a smooth line that enables a precise snap. If I had any misgivings, it would be the small metal band that holds the blade in place can become misshapen over time and falls off. I solved this by applying a small piece of tape to hold it in place.

I own a glass shop and this cutter works great for cutting plexi-glass for my customers. About 6 to 8 passes on the 1/8 and pop.

It's expensive (compared to other brands) but it does work well. I'm using it to cut 1/8" poly sheets and with enough pressure and strokes it does a good job, sure beats using a hand saw!!!

I bought this based on other reviews and was disappointed. I can cut formica better with a table saw.
