Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen USB-C Audio Interface

Upgraded from a cheap behringer to this. Slightly reluctantly. And I am so not regretting my decision. I'll start with the pretty lights around each dial. Not completely necessary, maybe, but really cool. I mean, it shows the in/output levels, but so does a line on the knob itself.Setup-wise, this was really easy. had it going in no time, and worked perfectly with my daw. In fact, with the older behringer, when my daw was open, it hijacked the audio so that nothing else in windows could play sound! But this seems to work just fine.Generally, Its pretty easy to use, though I've not really done much more than play with half of the buttons on it. For my needs (guitar and vocal recording), this is more than enough.But the audio quality itself, which is the reason I got this rather than a cheaper alternative, well that's blown me away a bit. People said it was better quality, but I'm no pro, and didn't expect to notice much. But it really is amazing. Everything down to the quality of the audio through the headphone jack is incredible. I really love this thing, so it may be a bit more expensive than other things out there, but worth every penny.

I’ve been using this with my Presonus Eris 3.5 monitors, Eris Sub 8BT, and an SM7B through a Cloudlifter, and it’s been flawless. Everything worked straight away with no driver headaches, and it’s been fully compatible with all my gear. The preamps are clean, latency is extremely low, and the recording quality is excellent. It has more than enough gain for my setup, and the inputs and outputs cover everything I need. For the price, the value for money is outstanding—you get professional-quality performance without spending a fortune. I can definitely see why the Scarlett range is so popular. Highly recommended :)

The Scarlet 2i2 (Gen 4) has been a great improvement from the previous gens but its still has its similar pros and cons and you need to know what exactly you want to do and what inputs/outputs you need before buying.ProsIt has a great pre amp - low noiseAuto Gain and Clip safe is a interesting additions that seem very helpfulAir can add a nice touch to your vocalsHi res audio, supports up to 24-bit/192kHz which is great for any home studios and even for professional standardsIt also has a great simple user friendly design which makes it easy to useAlso very good build qualityI don't believe there's many cons butLimited input/outputs so you cant have complex setupsNo midian issue some people have it doesn't power off when my pc shuts down so I'd like a power button but a simple fix is just unplugging it when you are done with your work if it bothers you.In conclusion the 2i2 Gen 4 is a great product with little flaws and great audio quality and user friendly features. Any potential buyers should make sure their specific connectivity needs are met and consider other models if any other inputs/outputs, or MIDI inputs/outputs are needed. So make sure it has all of the ports you need before buying so you don't have to upgrade to even more expensive gear later on just because the 2i2 is missing some featuresThis is also great for any streaming needs you just might have to download third party software if you like to have live eq on your mic.

I upgraded from the Scarlett 2i2 Gen 2 and this is a massive upgrade, mainly the fact that the headphone preamp can actually drive my Audio technica ath-m50x properly. For the money it's well worth it

I've been needing an audio interface for some time. I have some studio-quality headphones that I wanted to get the most value out of, and when doing anything music-related, it is essential to bring out more clarity from the audio being sent to the headphones. I am familiar with Focusrite Scarlett from having used them in college, so I already knew the quality would be great.In terms of functionality, I have found that they deliver high-quality audio and capture sound well from microphones. The layout is clear and simple to understand, and compatible with many DAWs, including Ableton and Logic.For £155, I couldn't argue with the price as it does what it says on the tin. And as a bonus, they include multiple plugins you can download, which makes the value even better.However, I have got my own issues that, although are easy to fix every time they happen, it's more annoying having to keep plugging and unplugging the power cable due to Windows being Windows and sometimes thinking that I haven't got it plugged in even though I know it should be functioning as well as it's intended.

This interface is probably the best I've had. I like the gain control although it's better not using it with the microphone. For the guitar it works great. Sound quality is excellent. I use it with Ableton Live 12.The only negative is that the two jack plug inputs on the front would be better one above the other on the end of the unit. I have an angled jack in the far left and a straight jack in the second input. The cables are untidy. Input 1 cable can go straight around to the back of the unit and out of the computer table. Input 2 comes around in a large loop before going to the back of the unit.

Seems fine, preamps are clean and gives a little more gain over my previous Behringer UMC22.XLR inputs are on the back which is a huge bonus considering they never get unplugged, and always seem to be in the way on under desk mounted units.Having all the controls on the front, and controllable from software is good. No more reaching around the back to toggle phantom power... (*cough* behringer *cough*)Meets my needs well, which also aren't too much from an audio interface :)

Awesome sound!Great upgrade from my Arturia Minifuse 1. I don't know what was wrong with Minifuse, but the sound from it was way off. Lacks bass in the output and had weird sound on the input. I could never get my guitar sound right with minifuse. And! Boom. Scarled 2i2 - what a difference! Now everything sounds great. Guitar reached back it's tonality and frequensy balance. My 990 Pro X has gotten their bass back and earned even better clarity! I am happy.The only little downside is - the led lights has a little bit of flickering to them. But it doesn't affect anything.

Veteran Scarlett user perspective - this is my third generationI've owned the 2nd gen, 3rd gen, and now the 4th gen Scarlett 2i2, so I can speak to the evolution of this interface. Let me be clear upfront: I didn't upgrade out of necessity - my 3rd gen was working perfectly fine. I upgraded because I wanted to, and I'm glad I did.Setup & Compatibility:Currently using this with a Shure SM7DB microphone and guitar input, running everything through Voicemeeter Potato for mixing. The interface integrates flawlessly with this setup and the audio quality is superb across both inputs.The Biggest Improvements - Rear XLR Connections & Enhanced Preamps:The rear XLR placement is a standout feature for me. Moving the XLR inputs to the back of the unit instead of the front makes an enormous difference for desktop organization and space utilization. No more cables cluttering the front of your workspace, and it creates a much cleaner, more professional-looking setup.Additionally, the increased preamp gain on the 4th gen provides a noticeably bigger boost compared to previous generations. This extra headroom is particularly beneficial when working with gain-hungry microphones like the SM7DB, giving you more flexibility in your gain staging without having to rely as heavily on external preamps or cloudlifters.Performance:Audio quality remains excellent, as expected from Focusrite. The preamps are clean and quiet, providing plenty of gain for the SM7DB (which is notoriously gain-hungry). Guitar recording is crisp and detailed. Latency is minimal, and the unit plays nicely with Voicemeeter Potato without any driver issues or conflicts.Build Quality:Solid construction with the familiar Scarlett reliability. The gain knobs feel precise and the overall fit and finish is what you'd expect from Focusrite.Who Should Upgrade:If you have a 2nd or 3rd gen that's working fine, this isn't a "must have" upgrade from a functionality standpoint.
