Highly Recommended
I wish I'd had this book 10 or 12 years ago. It would have saved me untold hours typing things into google translate (and Babelfish, back in the day) and going to online forums looking for German Kipper readers. Now the method is all here in one handy book. There is no filler.Kipper works in a much more directional manner than Lenormand does. Facing directions and pointing objects on some cards guide you around the spread. Stop cards do just that, they tell you where to stop. It's like a series of road signs layered on the card meanings. There are no reversals, rather, a card can take on a negative connotation behind a significator's back. All of this is much easier than it probably seems here, and it's all explained clearly. She tells you how certain combinations can work, but she doesn't pad the book with endless combo lists. She doesn't use the book as a platform to push other things she offers - it's illustrated with her deck, yes, but she makes it a point to tell you that if you're using a different Kipper deck and it faces differently, that's fine - just go with the facing directions on the deck you're using. Nor does she tell you that if you want the GOOD information, you'll have to buy her course. (A certain Italian Sibilla book - NOT by Toni - is infamous for doing that.) She's a solid reader, and seems to be a good, honest lady! There are spreads, too, several of them Kipper-specific. And she breaks down the Kipper Grand Tableau and explains exactly how to do it.It's an excellent book, it's fun, and there's enough here to make a person into a competent reader if they will just study and practice. All in all, a very pleasant, honest, and refreshing book to find in this sometimes-shady old world of fortunetelling.

A wonderful book that is worth your time
Kipper cards are, indeed, very interesting! As a reader that comes with a Lenormand background, being presented with this deck without proper information and instruction lead me to treat the Kipper cards as a variation of Lenormand. And I knew this, which made me hit google to try and find information on Kipper and after a couple of weeks I finally found gold.Enter Toni Puhle and her wonderful instruction. With passion and candor she has, generously, shared her knowledge about Kipper cards in her book. With extensive investigation, she has distilled the information she acquired in Bavaria into a very manageable workbook.Pros: Extensive information on all 36 cards with the correct directionality interpreted. The hows and whys of every spread (incluiding the GT). A fun style of reading. Easy access to all relevant information (trust me, you will come back to this book time and time again). You will learn how to interpret the cards correctly, so the need of endless lists on every possible combination of cards is thrown out the window.Cons: Some grammar typos here and there, but it will NOT break the experience. So I am happy I found this book. I think is very worthwhile. I love how it does the Kipper justice as it really has its own personality and it cannot be treated like Lenormand. This is one of the few resources in english, but I do believe this is the one that is worth your time as it brings Bavarian tradition right to your home.

Wonderful instruction; challenges with example deck and image clarity
I greatly appreciate the traditional approach to teaching the system, and the clarity with which the author communicates it. I don’t understand why the author decided to use a unique deck with directionality that does not appear in any other available deck. Even though it may be authentic, it is confusing to new learners, who may not have access to this specific deck. The icons are too busy and detailed and don’t show up well, and the card images in the book are so small, it’s impossible to tell what they are. Otherwise, I think is an incredible resource.

Great Textbook on Kipper
Item arrived very quickly as opposed to the authors Kipper cards which are shipped from Germany. The book is well structured and is more of a 'textbook' than a handbook. Which for me works extremely well when trying to learn an unfamiliar oracle system. Just be aware that if you are purchase book and deck as recommended by Amazon the deck will take much longer to arrive.
