It's also not a trimmer (if you were meaning the hedge trimmer shown in the video). That's a different product. This one is just the weed whacker/edger.

Does this come with the battery and charger?

Mine came with 1 charger and 2 / 20 DC volt batteries. Shop around and look for the best deals. After I bought mine I saw I could have gotten it for half what I paid and the newer ones come with a 40 DC volt battery.

What is the advantage of having 2 - 1.5 amp-hour batteries as opposed to 1 - 3.0 AH battery?

Also, the 1.5 amp weighs about half the other, so it is balanced. The 3.0 would make it top heavy.

how long is runtime on a fully charged 1.5 ah battery? we only got 10 minutes use

I've had 2 of these batteries for my weed whacker for about 5 years now. The first few years, they would last about 30-40 minutes each. The last couple years they would only last about 15-20 mins each. Now they last 2 minutes at the most, so they've obviously reached their expiration. I'm not complaining. I got a lot of use out of them and they lasted longer than expected. Please keep in mind: your run time will greatly depend on what you're using the batteries for, and whether it's continuous or intermittent run time.
