Add insoles, apply leather protectant, and you have the perfect boot!
I have mild Cerebral Palsy, and I'm 64, so finding shoes that I can walk well in is a major challenge. I needed some good lightweight boots to hike Machu Picchu in Peru. I tried on twelve other pairs of boots before I found these. I can't tell you how much I love them. I wear them almost all the time (Maine chic) except in the summer when I wear my 30 year old Birkenstocks (4 times re-soled, 2 times re-corked!) Oh, and when I sleep! (smiley emolji)I've had these boots for over a year and a half now, and they're so great, I ordered them in another color. I ordered my usual size 8, but I had some heel slippage and almost returned them. Luckily I thought to try adding insoles from a pair of shoes I no longer wear and with wool socks, it made the sizing perfect! The insoles also added some additional arch support and cushioning which make the boots even better. So my advice is to order your true size and add a pair of insoles. Do so, and you will have the most comfortable, light, breathable, waterproof boots you've ever experienced. (And at 64, I've had a LOT of experience!)These boots are beautiful, classy with a vintage look, but you need to put on some polish and then leather protectant like Sno-Pruf or silicone because the toe box will scuff the first time you wear them. People often compliment me on their good looks, but I have to apply polish on a regular basis because I didn't initially put on the protectant. What shocks me is that because of my Cerebral Palsy, I always wear down the the toe and heel of the sole of my right foot. Not so, these. After a year and a half of very heavy mileage, the soles are barely worn down.

Cute boot, but not great for long hikes
I've worn these out on the trail 8-10 times now including in snowy conditions and warmer weather (60s-70s). I normally wear a 6.5 or 7, so I bought the 6.5. I would recommend going down a half size, as the 6.5s were a little too big even with thick socks on, so they rub on my heels and gave me blisters on longer hikes. If you downsize, you shouldn't have a problem with blisters as long as you lace them up tight.Wish there was some arch support, but for shorter hikes, they're decently comfortable and are waterproof tested. They're not super breathable though...my feet still get sweaty with good socks and cold weather. Traction is good as long as you aren't trying to walk on ice or slushy snow. Because they're a little big, I tend to trip more on uneven trails, so the toe is showing some wear and tear already from some rockier hikes.Would recommend to a friend, but I'm not sure I'll repurchase.

Traveling boot turned every day boot!
Edit: July 2019: Ventured again to the amazon jungle in Peru and took these with me. They got so covered in mud inside from the rain/clay that I left them there and just bought the exact same pair to replace them. Tread was still phenomenal, comfort was still great. I just did not want to carry them in my carry-on bag on the way home.Edit: September 2018: About 6 months post-purchase and these boots are impeccable. I’ve hiked/walked roughly 300 miles since purchase. Streams, rocks, roots, terrain — absolutely awesome performance. I still love these boots, will be a customer for life. Heck, I wear them out with jeans occasionally just because. Highly recommend still.I purchased these boots right before heading on a two week excursion in the Amazon jungle in Peru. 100% these boots are worth the cost for the following reasons...1. Comfort: These feel like a sneaker in terms of support and comfort. I have flat bunny feet which are narrow and with a mid-weight hiking sock, I did not experience any sliding or blistering.2. All-terrain approved: The boots have a sturdy rubber, textured sole which allowed me to walk through airports, steep rocks, 12 inches of thick clay mud, grasses, on boats, up stairs, across slippery wooden planks, and basically everywhere else during my travels.3. Easy care: These boots are water proof on the outside so any time they were caked in clay mud, I dipped them in water about 3/4 of the way and simply rinsed them off. I did this many times while wearing them.4. Style: if you care about style (which I do not, more utility than anything) these boots pair well with shorts, jeans, hiking pants, yoga pants, etc.Notes...Sizing: I am usually a 9 in hiking boots and sneakers, and 8.5 in casual or dress shoes. I ordered these in an 8.5 and the fit was perfect. 9 would have definitely been too large. 8 would have been too small with the socks that I like to wear.Transforming my shoe wardrobe: now that I’m back in the US, these are my go-to shoes for anything and everything. Absolutely worth the price!Color: As another reviewer mentioned, these are a green more than a gray. I think the color is awesome!

Stylish. Comfortable. Functional. (RUN A TAD LARGE).
LOVE these boots. I bought them for an anticipated trip to Banff Ntl Park and wanted something stylish that I could wear around town yet function well while hiking. They do run a tad large. I'm normally an average 7, but ordered a 6.5 per REI's recommendation on their website, but I think I could have gone down to a 6, even, but wasn't worth exchanging. Traction is great. Haven't tested the waterproof abilities yet. No break-in period needed. Can't wait to get great use out of these.Update: Tested the waterproof abilities in both water and snow... they are indeed waterproof. Wasn't the slightest bit wet or cold.

These boots worked great through thick mud
Just wore these boots to hike 65 miles in Chilean Patagonia. These boots worked great through thick mud, rivers and snow. No water got inside. Highly recommend. Also these did not require breaking in.

Sizing is off but great hikers
Beautiful lightweight boots. Ended up retuning as I wanted the black tan colour instead but these are very comfortable with ample room for extra socks and even an insert as there aren't any stiff sections in the design that would restrict your options.Sizing is off as I usually wear 9.5 in women's with a wide foot. With these Forsake, Im wearing the 8.5 women's and my foot measures 25cm. Even then I have about 3cm extra in length (which is perfect for extra socks and inserts). My foot is fairly wide and these boots easily accommodate the width. Hope that helps!
