Does its job
I bought this for my in-laws because their router was installed in a room upstairs and their office is downstairs on the opposite end of the house. That said, they were losing connectivity with the wireless devices (phones, iPads, printer, etc) so as a quick and inexpensive fix I ordered and installed this. Installation was a breeze and so far I haven't heard any complaints from them about connectivity. My only negative is that when you go from upstairs to downstairs, you have to connect to the new extender because it has its own name. Not a huge deal, but I will soon be upgrading them to a "mesh" type system so that no matter where in the house they are, the system will automatically connect them to the nearest access point without them having to do it manually.

It's Perfect!
I bought this to get a better wi-fi signal in the kitchen which is on the opposite side of the house from our router. I read the instructions that came with the extender and knew enough about computers to keep myself out of trouble. There is also a tutorial online that I watched before installing my extender. I am a 70 year old woman and I connected it all by myself so it has to be easy to do!

not easy to set up
it is not easy to set up, there is a website online run by softree LLC will rip you off when you call NetGear, so be cautious. I thought I was calling official NetGear but instead I got these Asian Indian computer nerds trying to tell me that my computer and internet are both infected, so ripped me off $400 service fees.. but then I found out it is all a scam then got my money back.. be cautious

Goes the distance
I never installed it as I hired a tech guy to help me. I gave the Netgear extender to my son in law, and it has increased their WiFi substancially, and they are very pleased.

Works, but not flawlessly. Not sorry we got it though.

Good Entry level dual band extender.
It is almost plug n play sort of device requiring you to create/login to Netgear wifi router page for setting it up, for all of those who'll be using such device for the first time. It's a great dual band extender with combined speed using both bands of 2.4 & 5 GHz up to 1200Mbps. But for that you need wireless internet source to support dual band signal emitter.

Not easy to setup as dual band, to know why read complete review below.
I have a 3 bhk flat where I’ve nighthawk R8000 as my main tri-band router , which had 3 Wi-Fi SSID’s. 1st SSID for 5 GHz and 2nd SSID for 2.4Ghz & 3rd SSID for guest Wi-Fi again on 2.4 GHz, which was not able cover whole flat. So I ordered 2 of this products to help in fixing it. When I got this product I set it up as dual band Wi-Fi extender using same SSID’ at first but then it was dropping connection with main routes Wi-Fi very frequently. So I reset both these devices to default and configured them as dual band with different SSID’s ... which was a lot confusing for my parents to decide which one to connect as I had 5 SSID’s coming from 2 of these devices + my 3 SSID’s from main router, so I ended up having 7 SSID’s in total in one single flat & still both the devices where loosing connections intermittently with main routers Wi-Fi. But main router Wi-Fi does not have any issues as I was able to connect them every single time and I’m using them for last 2 years now where except the strength never has any issue with those SSID’s. And till now these 2 devices were siting right in 10 feet distance from my main router in same room, so signal strength from my main router couldn’t be an issue either, because even today I’ve no issues with my Main router’s 3 SSID’s when I’m in same room. Hence there devices had to be configured agin using single SSID’s individually and it’s working fine now.... I also worked with Netgear support teams but they could not resolve these issues and hence I’m saying these devices are not easy to setup for dual band.

Some damage was there in the inside of product
Some damage was there in the inside. As some small broken part make a sound once we revolve it. And I have contacted the seller but did not get any response. However, despite this damage, the product is working fine. Not as much it was claimed in the product detail page. Moreover, I have noticed that the signal enhances in the horizontal direction much more than in a vertical direction. Hence, if you want to have a great signal on the first floor, it's better to keep it on the first floor.
