This is a nice tool to cover gray hair. I like the control I get with the powder and the sponge applicator. I have used spray touch up color and it is much more difficult to control the placement and I end up getting it in areas I don't want the color. This powder sponge applicator allows me to lightly dab the color on my gray hair and it looks very natural. I can control how much powder I want to add to my hair. I can also keep the powder away from my part and scalp area while keeping it mainly on my hair. I want a natural look, so I lightly tap the applicator into the powder and then lightly tap the applicator onto my hair. I make sure to keep the color within my hairline so the color doesn’t get on my forehead. The only issue I have is I should have ordered the next darker shade, but this is my error and has nothing to do with this particular product. I think this is a good product at a good price point and of good quality.

I've dyed my hair for decades at this point, and have tried all kinds of options for touching up my roots. Back in the day I just needed to hide the brown roots that cropped up, now there is an alarming amount of silver happening at the roots as well. My hair is naturally light brown (and gray, apparently), but I dye it solid black and have to stay on top of the roots or it just looks weird. This powder is a life saver when I can't get to my roots quickly. I just dab it on my roots and silvers and it blackens them perfectly. Also it stays put very well. You won't be leaving a trail of black powder behind you. It can make your hair a little stiff, so style it before adding the powder. This is a great product to have in a pinch and I'm happy to have found it.

I like it but not a lot because it makes my hair not shinny.
