Great for 12" MBr, not larger MBP's or if you need USB-C 4k video OR access to SD card reader
First, go the Henge Docks website and visit the Support page, read the FAQ and everything else first. This has a lot more info than what is on the Amazon page. For me, the description on the Amazon page didn't make it clear at the time that this dock didn't support a USB-C monitor (such as the Apple/LG 4k monitor). Sure, it has the display port, but I haven't had a monitor like that in a long time (before this it was the old 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display) so I just ignore anything when I hear/see display port.Outside of that, the USB 3 ports are functional, as is the audio and the SD card reader (not too many docks have this, they ALL should have this as mandatory since Apple discontinued the built-in readers on laptops). These are all positives for the dock. Other positives include the additional USB-C port (wish it supported video...argh!). The build quality is very Apple-like and it makes me want to try a Thunderbolt 3 version of this when it comes out (it sounds like that is what I need). The overall design is beautiful, sleek and packaged very well. If you have a 12" MacBook this is the dock for you!! NO questions, unless you need to run your 4k USB C monitor through it...then forget it.Negatives: No USB-C video support as noted. A 13" MBP slides off of it really easily, despite the little raised "grip". This renders this feature useless in practice. It may work well with the light 12" though. I just say though, the angle was REALLY NICE and wish it would hold a 13" (or even a 15") better. The other problem is that is is too small in width to be able to use the SD card reader when the MBP 13" in on top. I would have to pick it up to access...this again, defeats the purpose of a dock. Put the SD in the back; while not an ideal location, at least the MBP doesn't need to be removed to work. If it is off to the side, it's fine. The other thing is that the USB-C port is pretty slow. My USB-C SSD drive drops about 20-25% speed when connected to it...not a huge deal, it's still pretty fast, but when I'm editing 4k video...it will not work (still would the to connect direct to Mac and this, along with the lack if video support, kills the entire idea of "1 cable"....I'd be running a minimum of 4 with this: dock, monitor, USB-C SSD drives x 2).Really, it's a VERY NICE tethered dock and ideal for a little 12" MBr. I'm not sold on it for anything larger OR if you need to use the SD card often as I do OR if you need USB-C video support for your monitor. I did return mine as it didn't meet needs in practice for these 3 areas for me: USB-C video, slides off too easily and can't access the SD card read when in use.

Updating previous review
Update, June 2021. When I first bought this dock I used it infrequently, but in the past few months I have used it daily. I use it for a Windows laptop (for work) and for personal (MacBook Air). It has worked great and the sound problem I had when I first purchased it has resolved itself (no idea how or why). So this has turned into an essential piece of equipment for me and has done exactly what I need it to do. I wanted to update my review to reflect this change.I wanted to love this dock - it has a nice heft to it and all in all looks like a great product. I just bought a MacBook Air and wanted to connect it to an old Apple Cinema Display, which I use on a daily basis with my work 2015 MacBook Pro. Initially I couldn't get it to even turn on, but I read some reviews and then tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. That finally worked, but it seems that must be done repeatedly. Unplug the power, unplug the cables and eventually there seems to be a clear signal (the first pic is before I disconnected, then reconnected the mini-display cable). So I do have it working, but I cannot get the sound to work. I have external speakers that I thought I could plug into the headphone jack of the dock, but no . . . When you connect to the Henge Dock in settings, it comes out of the display and nothing you can do will make it come out the external speakers. Ok, so I just plugged it directly into the MacBook and the sound comes through the speakers.I was hoping this might be a solution to using the monitor with both MacBooks and not have to unplug and plug back in all the time, but apparently that is not going to work for a variety of reasons. One, the Henge Dock will not work with Mojave and I [unfortunately] cannot upgrade to the newest OS due to some certs not working with the newer OS. Second, I do not know what kind of cable I would be able to run to the old MacBook from the dock to make it work, even if it supported the earlier OS.So, right now I am torn between keeping it and trying to search for a better solution. I have not yet found a solution that would allow me to work with both laptops. I have concerns about a product that requires you to plug and unplug so frequently just to get it to work. Stay tuned and I'll update once I've used it a bit more.

Works as expected, delivery way before planned date
Good product with its own power supply and enough wattage to charge my MBP and additional devices at the same time. works as expected.Remark: the mini-display port does not always work (flashing external screen) but that is most likely an MBP problem as I have the same issue with another USB-C to mini-display adapter. If I restart the MBP with the external screen plugged-in, it works fine.

Robuste, fonctionnel et bien fini
Très bon produit, manque un port HDMI à mon avis.Apres plusieurs tentatives infructueuses de trouver un dock qui fonctionne avec mon macbook pro 2019, celui là s'est avéré parfait.

Works as advertised and is good value for the money
I use this to connect a 4K monitor to my new MacBook Pro, as well as some other peripherals. It works as advertised and gives me a simple way to connect everything, including 100W power and. 3.5 mm headphones, to my MacBook Pro with just one cable. It's good value for the money.Other reviewers say that the mini display port doesn't work. That's incorrect. It works just fine. The only catch is you need to use the USB C cable that comes with the hub to connect to your Mac. You can't use just any USB C cable.

DVI Port failed
Purchased this a few months ago and was working fine until a few days ago when the DVI port simply stopped working. Will now not connect to any external monitor through my Mac. Connected my Mac directly to the monitor using another connector and works fine so the issue raised in other reviews has now happened to me.Shame as it was working great until now. Buy with caution.

Avoid if the Display Port requirement is a reason for buying.
As I have now spotted on other review here and elsewhere on the web, the display port on this dock doesn't work reliably. Every 8-10 seconds it will flicker or go blank.A nice looking unit, be it expensive, but just not functional. Item returned.
