My hands can breathe
I ordered the size by their tape measurement suggestion, and although they seemed tight at first, after one workout they are just fine. Now I wait to see how durable they are over the long run?

Great protection!
This picture showcases my hand after 1000 pull ups today. It’s just what I was looking for! I recommend putting extra padding underneath to protect the palms, but this is the first glove purchase that have not let my hands rip after 1000 reps.

Great buy
Fit perfectly. Very good quality, I’d recommend purchasing them. I used mine twice now and the grip is really good even though they aren’t full gloves.

Too sticky for kettlebell work
I just got these. They look great, solid construction, good fit. That said I purchased these specifically for high volume dynamic kettlebell work, 500-700 movement workouts with minimum breaks. Snatches and swing cleans require the kettlebell to rotate in the hand. The silicone texturing on the palm provides far too much friction. You could use chalk to reduce this which would work for set and rep work at low volume where you can refresh the chalk to keep it dry. I do not use chalk when I do high volume work because I tend to sweat and that turns chalk into glue, making it worse than no chalk at all. These are good glove just not for kettlebell work.

On my second pair and I couldn’t be happier!
The media could not be loaded. I never go out of my way to write reviews for anything, but this is one of those very rare exceptions for me. These gloves have been a true life saver for me. The level at which I train is very intense and I have torn almost all of my skin off my fingers and calluses because of the velocity of how I workout. Yes I have to tape my fingers still but I went through 5 different pair of gloves trying to help my hands to not tear my skin off all the time. I have used these gloves 5-6 days a week for almost 6 months and if you can see in my video the way I train I’m super happy with the results I got out of them. They are comfy and deliver the right amount of protection I need and for the look to they are awesome. The wrist guard is nice and comfy and doesn’t restrict any blood flow but still keeps the palms right in place where they need to be. The palm itself gives me the right amount of grip so even when I throw myself around I can catch a bar and not have to worry about slipping. The thread between the fingers has started to rip and come up but like I said, it’s to be expected for what I do. I don’t even want to go look or try out another pair, these have been my best friends and I will continue to be a Mava customer for this alone. I can’t wait to try out some of the other gym clothes they have to offer because if they are anything like the quality of these gloves I promise you you will not be disappointed. I can probably count on 2 hands how many times I’ve gone out of my way in my life to write a review but this has taken the cake. I recommend 10/10. And Mava if you ever want someone as an ambassador or want to sponsor me I am cool with that too 😉 Thank you so much and this review is truly well deserved

good concept.
interesting concept but doesn’t work for me. i tried this brand because of straps across the back of the hand. i felt it would help keep the palm of the glove more firmly against the palm of my hand - and it does. however, the palm of the glove shifts a little and exposes part of my hand near the base of my thumb. the bar can now rub and pinch this area. i tried adjusting the wrist strap. it’s a little difficult to pull that strap and keep the palm in place. it could be because i have large hands and the palm just isn’t large enough. other than the palm issue, the glove fit well. the fingers were more comfortable than i expected them to be and set well against the bar without pinching. the wrist wrap has two velcro strips. i think one is enough. the first one isn’t tight enough but others may like having two velcro points. i was able to adjust it tightly and it didn’t provide decent support. quality seems to be good. others may find the glove works well for them. like i said, i do like the concept.

Great protection and wrist support, but sort of ignore the sizing.
I had to return my initial order of the cross-training gloves that did not have the center hand strap. I ordered a medium based on the chart provided. My hand measures exactly 8" in circumference with hand splayed, right in the middle of the Medium sizing. However, and this is a biggie, it needs to include wrist measurement too. While it covered my hands well, the velcro on the wrist straps have to hit in the exact perfect spots to secure your wrists. If your wrists are too big, they won't hit right and may have the velcro rubbing on your skin.My initial thought was to go with a large since that is what I would usually get, and was wondering about the wrist strap measurements. So, if you're wondering too, go with your gut and order close to your usual glove size. Now that I've got these in the large, they are working great. The wrist straps really help with support on parallel bars and while the palm part is a bit big, I prefer that to too small. I even like the hand back strap better than on the other set which did not have. My calluses that I initially got are definitely minimized and hopefully will go away.I took off one star because the only thing I don't like is that there is nothing around my thumb area and working on bar exercises, it would be nice to have something protect that bit above the thumb. But I still highly recommend!UPDATE: They were working fine until the stitching started coming out of the right glove. Began two weeks before Thanksgiving so I had them a little more than a month; three 45-min workouts a week. It's the stitching that secured the leather to the neoprene along the outside edge. The hole got bigger since then because I kept using them. They still protect my hands and provide good wrist support. I wouldn't count on those non-slip things much either, they're starting to peel away, but for what I do, I don't think they matter much. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt since I think the thread was bad. The logo patch also has some popped stitches and there's no reason for that to happen. Thankfully I sew and will try to close up the hole again.Soooo - I would order them again, but if I had to reorder them every 2 months, that would get really pricey. If the Mava people read these - please switch the velcro patches. The hook ones should be where the loops are and vice versa. That way, if it doesn't quite meet on the first wrap, the soft loop is against your skin. And, if the second wrap leaves some exposed, the hook is not out to perhaps catch on your hair or clothes (my experience).

Amazing gloves but ....
Mava Sports Team: Thank you you for your prompt reply. I received the email about your message in my message box . However I am unable to read the entirety of your post nor am I able to reply. I am more than happy to provide you with any details about the gloves I currently own. Please advise.Pro: The design and fit of these gloves are amazing. The open hand design keeps you comfortable and it feels more lightweight than regular gloves. The wrist straps lend excellent support for lifting . And most importantly these gloves provide immense protection for your hands. The leather padding on the palm is great.Con: However, as a crossfitter that does a lot of bar work (pull up bars and barbells) there seems to be some durability issues. First, the silicon gripping tends to flake off easy . I first noticed this during high reps on a pull-up bar. If this glove grinds on the bar it'll grind off the silicon grip. Despite that, the leather padding holds up and it's not a huge deal. The biggest issue may be the stitching. I received these gloves on June 10th and today , Sept. 22nd, the stitching between the finger grips and the leather palms are pulling apart . Granted these gloves get used 3-5x a week, I imagined they would be designed to be more durable . I'll probably have to replace these gloves soon.Despite how well they work, I'm not sure having to replace these gloves every few months is practical at this price point. It'll add up quickly.Great purchase if you doing the classic gym lifting program . Not sure that they last long enough for Crossfit gloves. Which maybe too bad because they are so good .To be fair I have not contacted customer support on this issue bc I don't feel I have a case . However, I contacted them before about a prior issue last spring and they were excellent.

Nice try, but....
I like the concept and workmanship of the gloves. However, they are sized smaller than the chart indicates. I gaved the product 3 starts because I had issues getting the right size. Eventually they didn't even gave me a chance to get the right size, they just issued me a refund. I order a LARGE, which was smaller than expected. I returned it and asked for an XL and they sent me another L. I just gave up.

Great for lifting but doesn’t last
I really love these gloves but they’re already ripping two months in. Also, I love the wrist straps but I cannot wear my Apple Watch so that’s a con for me. I wash mine weekly and hang to dry. I’d recommend buying two pairs and rotating if you are a gym rat. I ordered a small based on the measurements but it was too big and had to return for an x-small. I would say my hands are not small. In conclusion, I do love the gloves and they do exactly as described. Maybe I am a bit rough on them but I will continue to use them on a rotational basis. Worth it.

Great for kettlebell workouts
These gloves are comfortable, and they are great for using kettlebells because the padded wrist strap provides cushioning for when the kettlebell contacts your wrist during cleans or snatches.

Well made and good protection, however...
Really like these gloves because of the finger loops versus all over coverage on the fingers and back of the hand, making them easier to get off (without having to use my teeth, lol). They are extremely well made, and comfortable. However, I don’t like wrist straps on any gloves and I have cut them off other brands. Although, I understand the reasoning for good wrist support, I am not doing extreme heavy lifting and I like keeping my wrists strong. I am merely trying to protect my hands from the steel nubs on dumbbells and bars. I will say that they don’t interfere with viewing my Apple Watch as the top side is soft and pliable, but they have to wrap around my wrist twice, which I don’t like. So dear Mava Sports, can you please make these gloves (for people like me) that have very skinny bands with a Velcro attachment right at the wrist just to keep the glove on. I would definitely purchase if you do. I am keeping these as the glove itself is perfect, however, I will probably do some modifications on the band. I would have picked pink, but I have large hands and you didn’t offer pink in that size, at least at the time I purchased. Thank you!
