STRICTLY BEDS&BUNKS Plato Bunk Bed, 2ft 6 Single

We are impressed with these bunk beds after worrying in case we would not be able to assemble them being a 70 year old couple!First of all, they arrived exactly when they were expected! by a very pleasant driver.A bit of thought, and definitely two people are needed, but all in all it was pretty plain sailing and were finished in under 4 hours!!!!You need to lay everything out in sections and have plenty of room for assembly. I would suggest not tightening all screws too much at first in order to get pieces of wood into place.They seem to be sturdy and well designed and obviously are made so that you could paint or varnish them if needed. However we have left them untreated. Our grandsons will be delighted!!!We would have liked more information on the web page about mattresses however as we ordered two from Mr Sleeps Beds and they sent the wrong size, so we are waiting for replacements. All in all though, a good buy!!

Best bits:- good sturdy design - looks good - the is ladder reversible (that was key for us).Bad bits:- some parts not finished very well & needed sanding, some of the wood seemed a bit 'green' and time will tell if it shrinks whilst drying.- the Alan key supplied was very poor quality and burred becomming useless - I had to use my own.- the instructions attempted to be comprehensive but I think at least one step was missing and some of the measurements didn't appear correct (I partially assembled some parts in advance to check it all went together properly. Having some 'nouse' on assembling flatpack and kit furniture greatly helps)Points to note:- Some parts of the assembly need care and are a bit tricky (I partially assembled some bits before tightening up screws)- some woodscrews were very hard to do up with an Allen Key and may well cause some people problems- the beds cannod be used separately (though this may be obvious to you!)

I’m very happy with this product. Good quality timber and relatively knot free. I varnished all the components before assembly. Despite the fact that the reviews that I read before I ordered the bed indicated that it was sound and sturdy, I spent a further £10 on 18 barrel nuts and bolts and changed the assembly method. This bed looks like it will last for ever ..... adults and all !!

Missing and faulty components. Had to make own parts to complete build which was up against tight deadline. Customer service response to complaint was merely reference to help pages which do not address component failures and absence. No actual customer interaction by seller. Complete brush off.Would not recommend as supplier.

Does what it says on the tin, heavy duty materials giving confidence in the strength of the assembled product. Assembly was simple enough as long as you follow the instructions carefully. Finished item very stable and comfortable.

Sturdy plain wooden frame. Excellent value for money. Took my husband who is a builder nearly 5 hours to put up on his own so be prepared to spend a bit of time. I think this is a very good buy which will suit the grandchildren and adults staying over alike. Very solid once put together. I have only given 4 stars due to the time taken to put it together and its a bit higher from the floor than I realised so could do with a guard to stop younger children rolling out but apart from that a good purchase

Good quality, very strong, safe bed frame. It is exactly what I hoped it would be. Needed a bit of help from my four year old son but it was relatively easy to assemble. I would recommend this bed and this company to anyone.
