Engine management warning lights have been a pain for years, one of the worst examples of user interface/user experience I can think of. A light appears, but in most cars without any indication of what is wrong, so you have to take the car to the garage (usually disrupting an entire day) where they do nothing more than plug in a laptop to find the cause and charge £50-£90 for the pleasure. In many cases, nothing needs doing to the car.
