So easy a caveman could brew a cup of coffee...
I purchased this because while I enjoy the Nespresso pre-packaged pods and their many flavors, I really wanted to save a bit of coin by using my own coffee(s) and I was curious as to how my own coffee(s) would be through the Nespresso machine. I am HAPPY on both accounts.Pros:* Simple kit, simple instructions, and easy to use. A caveman (or caveperson?) could figure this out. Kit parts look built to last and it came with 100 foil tops.* When applied correctly, the foil tops worked great and the applicator sealed them down super snug. I might add that they are a breeze to peel off with the little tab on them. MUCH EASIER than trying to remove the original top from the original pod. These were great.* The guide used for putting the coffee in the pod as you are filling it up kept the mess off the counter. I liked it.* The pieces of the kit look built to last and made out of solid plastic. I see no issues with it working for many cycles if you take care of it.* The pod sealer / foil applicator pressing thing sealed the newly filled pods extremely well. You have to get the foil on and centered, but after pressing it into place with the applicator they look nearly new and stay sealed for some time. I have yet to use one where the seal has come unglued prior to brewing.* I get to run my own coffee through the Nespresso! I like buying and trying different types of coffee and this allows me to brew it a cup at a time and it is WONDERFUL. With the kit you are not limited to just the pre-packaged stuff from Nespresso -- it's good, but I've wondered just how fresh it is and this lets you grind and brew the same day if you want to. This is my biggest PRO right here.Cons:* Obviously, you have to strip and cut away the foil on the top of the used pod in order to use it with this kit. I found that a super sharp paring knife or type of super sharp cutting knife was best. There is something rubbery on the Nespresso pod liners that a duller knife had trouble getting through. I may be a bit anal retentive, but worked to scrape all the old liner away as you can see in the picture.* There were times where my unsteady hands didn't quite get the foil liner from the kit centered when trying to get it down through the guide onto the pod and it would stick to the guide. Better and more steady hands than mine may not have this problem.* Not a fault of the kit, but something to keep in mind is the courseness or fineness of the grind. I found that I needed an extremely fine grind on the coffee to extract the most flavor with the brewer. It took some experimentation to find what I liked. Too fine a grind and it leaves some residue on top of the used container (see picture). I do not know if that fouls the brewing machine or not. You may also have to experiment on the grind to get it where you like it.* A nit really, but the instructions contained grammatical errors. It is not a bad thing and I am envious of anyone who can speak 2 or more languages (personally I have trouble with one and have failed miserably on multiple occasions trying to learn others), but the instructions could have been better if they had at least been put through Grammerly or something similar. Not a deal breaker because the kit really isn't that hard to figure out.At the end of the day, I loved the kit and found it to be well worth the money spent. This is actually one of the best kitchen purchases I've made on Amazon. I'd recommend it without any hesitation to anyone looking at brewing their own coffee in their Nespresso. FIVE STARS.

Great design, easy to fill! Here's some helpful tips!
This tool is FANTASTIC. What sets it apart from other similar tools is that it comes with a part that covers the top rim of the vertuo pod. This allows for a clean fill and allows the lids to stick better. It also speeds up the refilling process. Here are a couple of tips:*Refill pods of the flavors you like. The pod barcode matters. I like strong coffee, so I use Intenso or Stormio pods for refilling.*For precise and speedy refilling, use a small scale. For 7.7oz coffee pods, I use 14 g of coffee that has been ground to one level above standard espresso grind. For espresso pods, I use 9 g of espresso that has been ground to standard espresso. Your tastes may differ, so experiment with a few grinds, coffee weights and blends.*Make sure the top of the pod is clean before adding the aluminum sticker.*Do not cover the barcode with the top sticker. You'll get an error code.*There is a small tab on the top sticker, don't fold this over so it blocks the barcode. I actually trim mine off.*Very helpful tip. If you remove the top sticker off the pod while it is still warm (drink your coffee first!), it comes off cleanly and will make your next refill easier!Good luck. You will love this! Huge money saver. I refilled 30 pods in less than 30 minutes.

Wow! It WORKS!
Wow! This kit is so easy to use, alsmost foolproof. It’s also solidly constructed, and the coffee came out fantastic.A couple of things I learned as I went along.1- make sure you do this assembly line style to make the process more time efficient.2- I used a small and sharp paring knife to cut the original foil off. Leave the outer edge of the foil on the capsules, the foil sticker adheres well to it, and it’s impossible to get off otherwise.3 - use a soapy sponge to get all the coffee oils off the capsules to get better adhesion.4 - make sure the capsules are completely dry.5 - compare the weight to an original capsule to get an equal amount of coffee, and adjust accordingly.6 - don’t throw out the capsules! It’s easier to peel the used sticker foil off than it is to remove the original foil.I used cafe bustelo coffee from Aldi and it was delicious, and CHEAP!Highly recommend this product to anyone who has more time than money!

Great Product, Saves money!!!
I bought this to try it out and see if it would save me money. It looked to be the best option since the other ones had a little brushes to sweep the coffee into the foil cup. The funnel on this one works perfectly and it seals very tightly and stretched, once the process is completed. The video is very self-explanatory, and the results are amazing. I’m giving it four stars because I wish the foils had a tab on each side to place, but it’s still easy to do. I got it done the first time, and the quality of the plastic material is great. It allows me choose my own coffee and grinding level.*In the picture I have enclosed in original in front of the ones that I made for you to see the difference.

Nespresso without the price
Love it. Made over 50 cups so far and have figured out the right amount of coffee to fill the pods. The sealing stickers won’t hold unless you make sure it’s sealed all around with your finger. Having learned this, I now make a great cup of coffee. Easy to use and all pieces fit perfectly. The coffee grinds are a wonderful compost material and my plants are loving it.

I could not get it to work
I followed the instructions carefully, but as you can see from the photos it simply did not work. The pod tops collapsed inward and were too pliable to stay firm enough to hold up to the Nespresso piercing of multiple areas. You can see the difference between the 4 pods I attempted and the OE pods, as well as the difference in outcomes.
