Second report. It works!
I started using Equitrol the first week of May. I live in southern Arizona where we don’t get a bad fly problem usually until the first of July. I have 5 adult horses in one 1/2 acre pen. I have religiously treated the horses every day. The first month, I couldn’t tell much difference. Then we got about 3/4” of rain the last week of June. Three days later I had a fly explosion! I figured the rain had allowed the flys to hatch in the old manure, so I sprayed the pen with permethrin twice and knocked down the population. All this time I kept one fly trap out, where before I kept 3 out and changed them out about every three days. I noticed that I one fly trap was only needing changing about every 3 days. Then came July and we started getting rain and humid days. The fly population rose for about a week and then rapidly declined. Now, at the end of July, the fly population is negligible. I still have to doctor the 22 year old mare’s eyes every day, but we have almost no flies and there’s a herd of 20 cows about 1/4 mile from the horse pen!I think the key is to treat the horses every single day. I measure out their dosage in plastic bags and feed them individually out of my hands. I was afraid the horses wouldn’t like them, but I get mobbed every day. I’ve now fed about 25#. 10 lbs last 5 horses about a month. I buy the 20# size so it costs me about $50 per month to treat 5 horses. This is a lot cheaper than spraying the pens every day and changing a bunch of fly traps. I’m sold on this product and have recommended it to all my friends!

It works and you don't have to use it every day!
There are so many fewer flies. In the spring and summer we don't feed every day, as they have plenty of grass, but 3 to 5 times a week is still doing the job. I really only feed in the summer to make sure they get this and their supplements. This doesn't work on horse flies as they reproduce differently, but we have a nice flock of cow birds who have settled in the pasture and seem to be taking excellent care of the horse flies. I'm using very little fly spray- just on their feet for the few flies there are. Start in the spring for best results, but I think you'd see a difference even starting now if you fed every day. All the horses eat it with no issue. I do keep the extra in the fridge so it doesn't get weevils.

It Works!
These pellets really do work! All 8 of my horses love the taste. I don't feed grain so I just hand feed it to each of them once daily and they love it. I have tried many fly control options including fly predators and nothing works like these do. It does not eliminate all insects but it cut the number down immensely and we had no biting insects except mosquitoes. Even though house flies don't bite they are the ones that always seem to be swarming in insane numbers. We had none! The thing that finalized my decision was when we decided to go cheap and since we were almost at the end of summer we quit early. Everyone in my family noticed a HUGE change within 2 weeks. We ordered another box;-)

This product works
I was desperate to control my fly population. I still have the occasional fly because I have other animals and wildlife that do not eat a feed through. I live in Central Florida so flies were problematic all year. I couldn’t be happier with the results from this product. I buy it on subscription so my 4 horses will not run out.

Easy to use
After 5 years of using this product th he fly population at my barn has decreased by 80%. Even the green headed flies are considerably fewer. I use Equitrol because they are the only company that states it is safe for dogs that eat manure.

Great stuff
Great stuff for my horses. I've been using this for a few years now and it works better than the other feed-thru fly control brands. Keeps the flies at bay for sure. It doesn't completely keep the flies away but I'd say about 90% and that's better than nothing in my book.
