It may surprise guitarists, but the sound quality is excellent. It does raise the saddle on a guitar. To get the right string height, you need to shave off some of the saddle. You'll need to drill one extra hole in the bridge, for the wire. You'll need to be handy with guitars.

I had to enlarge the saddle trough. I have a Martin. Not a teal high dollar, but I've had it for 20 years and it plays good. I added a pickup. 1st install wasn't to successful. I purchased this to replace what I broke trying to remove. It works bur yoy may want a professional to install. After enlarging the trough, I had to sand down the saddle. It's difficult to get equal sound on each strung. It works but nor the greatest sound quality. If yoy want quality sound, maybe plat with a microphone near the guitar.

I got this to replace an old under saddle pickup from my 1980's Washburn guitar. Assembly was easy and it fit right in under the saddle and connected to the controls easily. My old pickup had completely died a few years back and it's nice to get sound back. Overall the sound quality is pretty good, no buzzing or humming and seems to be pretty true to tone. It's not quite as warm as the original pickup was, at least from what I remember from a few years ago, but provides a good sound and doesn't have any problem picking up anything from an open low E to high on the fretboard.Overall a good pick for an inexpensive saddle pickup.
