Item works well but only last 6 months

This is a great quality UV clarifying bulb that works at top efficiency.

It works great for my aquarium canister. I hope it will last for another year.

Arrived on time and a good price. Had trouble getting the electrical prongs fully seat into filter receptical. After about an hour it finally went in. Seems to be working ok.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:All I have to really say is this did fit my ultraviolet submergible filter, but don’t make a mistake I did. I had left it in the water after the bulb was burned out. It was in there for three years and most of that time it worked. I ordered the bulb first and then took it out to clean it And that was my mistake. It wasn’t terribly dirty, but getting the lightbulb out of the old socket proved to be quite difficult. I did manage though, but the glass covering sleeve that goes over the bulb accidentally fell off my bathroom sink and busted, and therefore rendered my ultraviolet Device useless. I only gave it three stars because I have no idea how long that bulb would’ve lasted. I ended up ordering a totally brand new unit which I probably should’ve done from the beginning, but I’m keeping the bulb because it’s not worth the hassle sending it back plus, I will be more careful if it happens again and need to install the bulb.

The lamp failed after a couple of days in my 35 degree outdoor pond. I questioned the manufacturer and they stated it normally operates at 20-30 degrees Celsius. (68-86 F)

The first one arrived broken and was replaced without question, the second one arrived intact, I plugged it in, turned it on, it no worky, tried to unplug it, results in the picture, the glass and metal bit seperated from the plug, absolutely useless. The service from "Amazon" and "myaquastore" were impecable, just a useless product, i will buy a more expensive one and see how it goes.
