KIMILAR Anti-Theft Video Doorbell Mount Compatible with RlNG Video Doorbell 1, 2, 3, 3 Plus, 4, 2020 Release

I would have preferred to pay less but all in all this is a very good option if you don't want to drill holes in your door frame or wall to install your Ring Doorbell. I've yet to decide whether or not to connect my Ring Doorbell up to the mains so for now I've just used this mount to attach to the side of my door from inside. It was very easy to install and there is no way the mount can be removed due to the nifty design. Very pleased with the purchase and feel very confident that my Ring Doorbell cannot be removed by a thief. It will also be very easy to temporarily remove on occasions when I need to re-charge the doorbell.

It has a metal/steel back plate which goes inside your door. The outer casing is a strong molded plastic but very strong. At first I thought anyone could rip this off, but I was wrong. Generally a good protector overall. It would be good if there was a top bit to protect from rain drops but never mind.

Not used yet, but looks good.

Easy to install

I think the Kimilar Anti-theft Video Doorbell Mount is a great idea and overcomes the concern that I had about how easy it would be to steal the video doorbell by just ripping off the whole thing in its relatively flimsy plastic mounting frame. This doorbell mount is certainly not flimsy and is a sturdy bit of kit.With no drilling or special tools required, it is reasonably easy to fit on the door, but it does not look elegant either inside or outside of the door. I had my plastic mount corner mounted for the best approach view of visitors, but can’t do this with a door mount, however I’m content with the door-mounted view.I’m happy with the quality of the materials, but due to the rather clumsy look of the installation and the price, I think it is overpriced.

Installation is easy, the door bracket part is simply a bolt screwed through a threaded bit on the bracket and tightened up on the door, would recommend putting a metal plate on as not to damage the door. The holder fits onto this bracket, as none of the screws are accessible it's very secure.Only thing of note is that most houses have upvc doors this is NOT SUITABLE for those, it need to be a flat edged door.

My older daughter has recently moved to University and for mine [and her friends'] peace of mind, I've chosen this item to review and install for their home.It is easy to set-up [using a 'clamp'/vice grip style design] and the camera can go in fairly easily with not much bother or stress. I feel that it securely protects the camera itself from people looking for a free-ride, and that because she lives in a rented accomodation, its an ideal 'temporary' fixture without the need of having to drill holes and potentially lose their deposit for!The only thing that was a bit of a faff was the replacement of the batteries when they died and recharging it as you had to effectively undo everything [to keep things easy] and take it from there but this is only once every month or so depending on how the camera is.A handy feature is that you can basically adjust the angle of the camera whilst using the clamp fixture, but I didn't need to use this thanks to the field of view of the camera.Hopefully this keeps my daughter and her friends safe and provides some reassurance/a deterrent to any would be crims!

I love my ring doorbell but I'm aware that it's quite easy to remove and steal.So I was pleased to be able to review this item.I found it a bit of a fiddle to install (hopefully that means it's a fiddle for anyone else to remove!).It has eventually fitted our old door, but might work better with modern doors?I'm also still a bit unsure of how easy it is to remove everything.Hopefully it just makes that a bit too fiddly, so any would be intruder or thief gives up.I haven't had to remove it to recharge the doorbell yet so I'll update this review ASAP.Overall so far it's satisfactory.
