Works great and sounds great
Used for Halloween. Made a custom scream. The motion detection is quite sensitive as well. I saw some other posts complain about it.not being loud enough... I can hear it from inside my house and I am pretty sure my neighbors could too. No complaints at all... other than my chickens are not scared of it and I was hoping it would keep them off the back porch... but that isn't the units fault.

Why
I have 2 of them on my dear hanger poll to keep coyotes and other wild life away from my fresh meat. They are 10 feet apart. I bought them recently and haven't hunted since cause season is closed. They both are turned off so I can walk infront of them with out setting them off but for some reason they even though are turned off with the remote go off all night Long. That is both of them. Does anybody know why this happens. Thanks in advance.

Scare away scavenger animals, those eating garden veggies and maybe even intruders
This looks a bit scary and industrial so keep that in mind if you are concerned about how it will look where you are able to place it--both for appearance sake and also as a deterrent if seen by humans during the day.It comes with a small charging cord for charging from a laptop but I think I charged it with my cellphone charging cord from AC outlet. It didn't take long. I wanted to test the sounds indoors, rather than risk a loud daytime noise that would startle neighbors. You really do need the instructions to know how to work the little remote, which does seem to work. The setting are also on the bottom. You can install this either in the ground on a plastic post (the whole thing is plastic, so make sure not to mow into it, for instance) or on someplace higher up, using a supplied attachment and screws. I installed on the ground near the vegetable garden, and where I suspected racoons were entering at night. I was a little nervous about what might happen! The first night I was in the house and as far as possible from the site I'd chosen. I heard a truck back-up sound and wondered what a truck was doing in the alley in the dark of evening. I realized it was the alarm going off! It wasn't too bad and stopped soon enough that I don't think a neighbor would be too bothered. The next day I used the remote to turn it off and it seems to have worked. Then I tried to turn it back on, but haven't noticed it going off again. I'm not sure if it still has its original charge and I haven't had time to check to make sure it is positioned to catch the sun during the day. If you are attaching this by screwing it into your house or garage, be sure you select a site that will get plenty of sun to recharge the solar panel system.I may end up thinking this deserves 5 stars but for now am withholding a little because I haven't seen how well it will charge from the sun and I thought it took a little time to figure out and that I'll need to save the instructions for the remote since it's marked only with four letters and not symbols that are in any way intuitive. That means one more set of instructions to figure out where to file!

Very loud, unique security device
This device is startlingly loud, the preloaded 13 noises should be enough to scare off any thieves and while a bit goofy, work great as a deterrent. You can also record your own message if you want, which worked well. You can't adjust the volume, but the extra loud sound is perfect if you want to scare people or animals off. You can set it to work all the time, or only at night, and the solar panel keeps it charged without extra wires. It has been working great and adds peace of mind to the backyard at night. The unique 360 degree design has motion sensors facing in three directions and seem to really cover any direction. It is very sensitive and will ring at any movement.

Might be over priced
The Solar Sound & Strobe Light Alarm 360° Motion Detector does flash lights and sound an alarm when something is within range. Range fluctuates depending on temperature and whether the alarm is in the sun or shade. It does work, so that's a good thing. For an indoor alarm (which they make accommodations for) I can see it being placed in an area you don't want your pet or small child, or anyone, for that matter, entering. It will let you know if they have crossed a certain boundary line.As an outdoor alarm, it is less successful. I have it placed under a chestnut tree because the squirrels and chipmunks and even deer, like to help themselves to what my wife thinks are hers. So, when a small rodent gets too close it does set off the alarm, the lights flash, and a sound comes from the speakers. It doesn't scare them one bit. It does allow me to go check on the chestnuts and they run away, but who wants to stay outside all day waiting for an alarm to go off?If there were volume settings and it could be turned up louder, it might be more effective. I realize some people live in close proximity to one another and a loud alarm would annoy neighbors. That's why there should be a volume control, so one can stay within the sound ordinances of their community. I live in the country where this does not seem loud. From 50 feet away, it can barely be heard. Even standing next to it, it is not objectionably loud. It needs more volume! It has a setting for 24 hr alarm, only at night alarm. That's pretty nice. I'll probably put it near my chicken coop to let me know if predators are around at night. If I can figure out a way to make it louder. An app that sends notification to your phone would be an improvement.
