NGT Hair Rig Tying Tool, Black, One Size

It is a good tool to use as I have arthritis now and find it hard to make my own but can with this tool only draw back is that it’s metal and needs a mat cover on the end of it as there is no grip or they could of “ knurled it “

Wanted this tool for tyi g hairs to a consistent length but also to hold hooks for sharpening. It does both jobs well.

The simplicty & effectiveness of this rig tying tool is brilliant, allowing you to create your own hair rigs with ease, and adjusting the length of the hair with accuracy. The concept is genius.However, I wasn't impressed with the strength of the clamp section. The hook must be clamped in place fairly tightly, so it doesn't move while you're tying the knotless knot. After only a few uses, the outer edge of the clamp (as can be seen on the right of the picture) started to give / stretch / bend / break. It hasn't broken off completely yet, but it's only a matter of time.OK, it was less than £6, but I still expected many years of hair rig tying before the tool started to show signs of wear & tear. I still use this tool occassionally, but usually tie them by hand more frequently now. There are probably better (stronger) rig tying tools on the market, and even though I don't think I'd buy another one, if I did, I would go for something more rubust than this NGT version.

Got a few different ones of these, this one easy to use, good value for money

I have been struggling for years with hair rig making but this gadget is easy to use and the results are brilliant, it holds the hooks nice and firm while you tie up the rigs it’s so easy to use my rigs have never been so good

Great tool to have in your tackle box

Lighter than I was expecting, seems to be some kind of alloy, produces good knotless knots though.
