Although many people complain that this volume of the Hellboy Library editions is made up of "short stories", those stories are actually re-ordered versions of the larger arcs that feature in "Hellboy: The Chained Coffin & Others" and "Hellboy: The Right Hand Of Doom" and thus, these are essential reading. Additionally the last quarter of the book contains original source material and sketches from Mike Mignola, so for fans of Hellboy the comic book art style he is a master of, as well as access to the behind the scenes stuff, these volumes are really collectable.Each page is pristinely presented with heavy glossy paper stock and very clear litho looking multi coloured print (most likely printed on modern machinery with laser technology) with accurate separation and presentation of pigments. the hardback cover is weighty and robust feeling and the embossed and gilded lettering on the front cover feels and looks expensive.If like me you love a hardback covered oversized library edition book to have on the coffee table and read while you take a break from work, these are uniquely special volumes of one of the underrated comic sagas of recent years. These were published 12 years ago and I'm just discovering them! Recommended

I already had french hardcovers for Hellboy, but as soon as I heard about these gorgeous library edition, I dreamed about it!THe cover itself is a wonder, it is made partly of black fabric, golden fonts, and a gorgeous watercolour.What to say about Hellboy? this is one of my favorite graphic novels. Mike Mignola's drawings are just so inspirative. It always reminds me of Classical Hammer monster movies. The Hellboy series are rich in characters from folklore and litterature. I always love to see what Mr Mignola will make out of them. Big Red's adventures will keep you awake at night!THe conqueror worm is one of my favorite stories, but again, I don't want to spoil you the discovery if you are new to Hellboy's world!

I love the Hellboy graphic novels, but these Library Editions takes the whole experience to another level. From the quality of the fabric cover, to the glossy pages and the richly vibrant colours of the drawings, it is an amazing package. And of course, the stories are enchanting to say the least. This is my second of the series, but I'll be getting the others.If you're a fan then you must buy these.

there aren't sufficient superlatives to describe how good this edition is.The quality of the cover, binding, paper stock... The artwork jumps off the page at you, in no small part due to the incredible artwork of Mike Mignola but I think this larger format really helps you get into every last tiny detail of each panel. Details that no matter how many times you've read Hellboy you probably missed!If I didn't have to eat and pay rent I would have bought all of these at the same time!

An amazing edition - it looks so beautiful. Really great colours, cover, everything! It's worth its price. I would recommend to every Hellboy fan!
