Great Series!
I've read a bunch of these urban paranormal and fantastical books lately. This series was delightful, suspenseful, and even emotionally charged in ways I couldn't put books down late into the night. I haven't been sad to end a series in a long time. Great writing, fun characters, and awesome way to entertain those that love disappearing into the books. I can't wait for the next book!!

Great Series and this book is no exception.
I have loved this entire series. It is funny, romantic, easy to read, adventuress, and action packed. I enjoy the author's imagination through the entire story. I also really like the length of these books - much longer- the author does not stint on details. I also like that there is not much cursing. The book also does not give half of time to sex scenes. I now throw books away with both - what a waste of my time. I want to read a well thought out story that I can enjoy and walk away waiting for the next book. I have really enjoyed this entire series and have recommended it to several people.

From book one to book eight, this series hits all the feels, along with a large helping of joy
K.F. Greene knows how to spin an enchanting tale. Magical Midlife Battle is chock full of tension, action, forward progression of the wildly eclectic characters, redemption, and best of all, full of love and connection betwixt species.Naimh is her usual crafty self, eliciting the reactions she aimed for with great success. Tristan's character was fleshed out more so the reader could create a deeper connection with him. Edgar, Mr. Tom, Alpha Kingsley, Mimi, Aunt Patty, Nessa, Sebastian, Phil, Ulric, and so many more pivotal characters kept me up reading late into the night, instead of catching some ZZZzzzs. The best part was how well Jess and Austin kept evolving and created space for each to continue to become even better beings, with each other and the various species within the convocation. The love, the courage they graced upon each other and their wonderful friends, the vulnerability, and more had me shedding more than a few tears.Oh! Just because the series says book 8 of 8, doesn't mean the journey is complete! I'm jubilant that another book is in the works!! 😀😍😘 So excited!Thank you, K.F. Breene. I appreciate the laughter, tears, anger, grief, and love. I will look forward to the next chapter.

Fantastic and just what I needed
This was a truly great read. Everything I needed in this series was here and in standard form. We got the banter of Ivy Crew and all it’s glory, a solid outcome with the battle against Momar, more Nessa (she has solidly replaced Niamh as the one to watch), new characters that will undoubtedly join the main crew at O’Brien’s, actual story progression (seriously, after defeating Momar what would’ve been left of the magical world? Now we have something to look forward to), and a real reason to root for more Tristessa (Tristan/Nessa end game goals). So why not a perfect score and me ranting and raving about how 5 is too little? I honestly felt that there was a book/novella 7.5 that I missed along the way. I even re-read the bonus chapters that didn’t make the cut in book 7 to make sure I wasn’t missing out. I also re scoured the newsletters to see if I missed something at the bottom. Alas that wasn’t the case. When exactly did this flower show happen? Also, I would’ve loved to see the scene of Jessie finding the wedding invitation. It probably included loads of eye rolls at Mr. Tom reading her mail, Niamh commenting on his stupidity and exclaiming how fun it’ll be to watch Steele and the Ivy crew invade her old Jane life, not to mention Austin sensing her anxiety and walking in with Cyra and Hollace who will make the very best deadpan remarks! Where is this short story?!? I need answers.Random note, I know we only met Jimmy once, but in the earlier books she did express missing him. In this book, she only mentions how Mac is roughly around his age. In all her sacrificial glory, at no point did she think about her son or remember that he (not just Austin) will grieve the most for her. It kinda felt dissatisfying noticing the slight when throughout this particular book the bonds of family were consistently slapped in our faces.Austin remembering how close he was to his niece, Her making an appearance to talk about how the parents needed to see that the young ones would fare well in the battle, the garrettes stepping up to protect and help take care of the territory’s inhabitants, same deal with the killer flowers, and even Jessie’s attempt to talk sense into Kingsley for not reprimanding his people for being so callous to Broken Sue smack down style. It just felt disingenuous to not spare a thought for her son. I mean did they even let him know his mom was badly hurt?

Favorite series ever! Love, love, love it!
This is book 8 of an incredible series. The characters are so well developed and truly have personalities all their own. K.F. Breene has a way of forming bonds and connections that feel organic in the making. The reader never scratches their head and wonder where the heck that guy came from, which is much appreciated. This series has some witty interactions that also show depth of love and friendships. They love hard and everyone comes out the better for it. This is a definite more than one read series. You will find yourself going back again and again when you need to feel good and experience a true loving relationship of understanding. Jess and Austin complement each other in ways every couple in a relationship could only hope to do.

A winner!
This book was amazing! I loved it. I've read all of the Magical Midlife (Leveling Up) books and I fell in love with the characters from the start. This particular book had so much stuffed into it that I don't know where to start. The world building is incredible. I love all the characters. The love and bond between Jess and Austin is swoon worthy! This book had it all - humor, sadness, adventure, suspense, romance, sexual tension, long held anger, sibling rivalry, loyalty, bravery, vengeance, death, grief, healing, and it all culminated in an epic battle at the end.I laughed, I cried, I clutched my pearls. And while I wanted to whoop near the end, I held it in because it was after midnight and my apartment has thin walls. This book is a winner.

A fun series and worth the time to read
I have enjoyed the whole series, will make you laugh. Fantasy world with really interesting side characters and creatures. The dolls hit close to home, what little girl has not imagined the doll in the corner moving; although I never imagined them doing mayhem. I'm hoping the story continues in another book.

Great!
The build-up in this book had me caught tight and I couldn't put it down. It was more or less straightforward in that the reader knows there are going to be standoffs and conflicts between the two main groups as they wait to fight the evil villain, but the nuances and the way each individual (and very different) character contributes to that story just works so well. I loved that there was a lot more to this than just focusing on Jessie (she's great and, but never been my favourite). It brought everything together and made it impossible to put down.

Love love LOVE IT!
Number 8 in the Magical Midlife series and it just keeps getting better! Just when you think that surely this book won't be as good as the last, it takes a turn that keeps you just as captivated from the first page to the last. This is one of my most favourite ever book series, and pretty much the only magical/fantasy series I have ever read, but I just love it. The characters are so rounded and full of life, the plots a mixture of hilarious, serious, heartfelt, a bit of sexy, and a whacking dose of magic that makes for a wonderful rollercoaster ride. This book had me crying with laughter AND sadness, and I'm not usually one to cry at a book.I can't wait for the next installment starring this mish mash convocation of magical misfits. Will it be as good as this one? If KF Breene's track record is anything to go by, it will somehow be better!
