My best book on Python ever - and I've read many.
Excellent! I have read about 10 books on Python and gone through many online courses. NONE has been as clear and selective in teaching what is relevant to everyday use. An excellent buy!

Automated a task that took me hours down to seconds
After several months of slowly working through this book, I just wrote my first real-world, useful script that syncs data between a network management system and a documentation platform. What used to take me hours of manual data entry is now fully automated. What I Liked: Thorough explanations of the basics. The book starts with foundational concepts like for loops, printing, and iterating through dictionaries. Topics that turned out to be critical to building my script. Offers practical, real-world examples clearly written for office professionals or technical users who aren't developers but want to automate repetitive tasks. The examples are grounded in real use cases, especially for Windows users. Perfect pacing for beginners: the book progresses gradually from basics to more advanced topics, giving readers time to absorb and apply what they learn. It took me around 6 months to go from almost no Python experience to writing a script that saves me hours each week. I followed the book chapter by chapter and completed the projects at the end. My "aha!" moment was realizing that mastering the basics gives you the confidence to expand into more complex territory. Once I had the core concepts down, I felt empowered to explore beyond the book when needed.Highly recommended for beginners, even without an IT background, especially anyone looking to automate repetitive computer tasks. For example, you can use this book to automate file renaming, Excel tasks, and more all without needing extensive IT or a software background. If you’re more advanced you may want to supplement this with other resources.

The Book That Opened My Eyes to What's Possible
I wasn’t a coder when I first picked up Automate the Boring Stuff, but this book completely changed how I saw the possibilities of programming. Al Sweigart’s clear and approachable writing sparked my curiosity and made me believe that coding was something I could actually learn. After reading it, I felt inspired to start searching for Python tutorials on YouTube. Even though I didn’t understand everything at first, this book gave me a foundation and opened my eyes to what’s possible with Python — from automating simple tasks to building real tools that can save time and reduce mental load. Reading it sparked so many ideas and gave me hope that I could learn to code, even as a complete beginner.Automate the Boring Stuff was the gateway that put me on a learning journey I never imagined for myself. If you're even remotely curious about coding but don't know where to start, I can't recommend this book highly enough.
