Great product
Just as described. But know going in, this is an insanely difficult waterpump to install. There are tricks to know and its a lot to remove to get to it. Not for someone unacknowledged.

What a job to do this critter. Never saw anything so crazy. After all the aggravation of installing the pump, it is so loud. I'm not sure if it's bad or what. I have a new 180* thermostat and it's running at 195* The pump has a loud whining sound. I see Amazon has a used one for sell for 17.97 SMH I'm scared to drive the car very far and don't feel up to starting over. It's a job Not sure what to do and only have 2 days to claim a return. What a mess. Would not take a chance on this pump. Way to much work involved to do again.

Great part for the price
Used this on a 2001 Saturn L200. Worked great for the price. Everything went together just fine. Would definitely recommend getting the OTC 6616 Automotive Accessories (or something similar) to hold the gear in place while swapping out the water pump. Lots of good videos on youtube of how change this water pump on the Ecotec 2.2.

You'll need to swap your old back cover
This is the pump (and gaskets) only. You'll need to remove the back cover (manifold) of your old pump and install it on this one. The gaskets are included in order to do this. Don't throw out your old pump before the new one arrives. The water pump replacement on the Ecotec (2.2 l) takes about 5-6 hrs using a jack in your driveway. You will need the special tool to hold the timing gear sprocket in place (through the timing cover access hole). I suggest the circular style tool over the half moon style because it eliminates any chances of dropping a sprocket bolt into the timing chain cover. Use a small mirror and flashlight to check bolt hole alignment before re-securing the sprocket bolts and spin the pump impeller to adjust. Don't fully tighten the waterpump bolts until the sprocket is fully bolted onto the pump.
